At this time of night there shouldn’t be any traffic and you can just go through the Bankhead tunnel.

Divert to the africa town bridge. Always take that bridge, it's worth the extra time to avoid risk of getting stuck at the time.

Was in Destin a month ago. Coming back it was a 14 mile backup but cleared about 1/2 mile before the tunnel.

It gets backed up every other day. I live near it and avoid it like the plague.

Don’t give away the local secrets! I agree with this, I live in the eastern shore and avoid the tunnel at all cost when I go to Mobile.

I'd still like to slap the shite out of the genius that decided an immediate 90 degree turn entering and exiting the tunnel on the west end was a good idea.

I drive across it daily, sometimes multiple. Just keep your GPS on and your usually good, unless someone fricks up right in front of you of course.

There are not enough hands to slap the shite out of all the Louisiana DOTD geniuses over the years from “temporary” 90 degree turns on bridges, incomplete bridge stubs for future ramps and bridges that are still there 30 years later, failure to keep grass cut along the road, when patching a road the left over patch is bumpier than the pot hole, 50 year construction errors or vandalism left unrepaired, lack of striping material and reflectors on older roads, etc. there are many more to list. TulaneLSU could do a top 100 of LaDOTD screwups and that wouldn’t scratch the surface of all of LaDOTD’s shortcomings. On top of all that the man in change of the agency for the last 7 years up until earlier this year is running for governor.

New word similar to cloaked.

The road is closed, but invisible barricades are in place, thus cloased...
