This is precisely what's going on. BLM people fancy themselves as modern-day civil rights activists, playing by the rules of the 1960's while failing to realize that the status quo has changed (for the better).

I consider myself BLM, but i also realize alot of my ideals do not line up with seemingly most others BLM activists.
This was very shitty. This was a terrible terrible situation here, why make it about yourself. So extremely selfish. This country is mourning a loss of American life, doesnt matter black, white, hispanic, asian etc.
When they do stupid stuff like this it makes no one take us seriously. Why tf cant people see this.

I see them as the Westboro Baptist of the left. Even people who agree with their basic message, like myself, can't stand them and their tactics. They're actually doing their cause a disservice.
And the fact that the university multicultural coordinator tried to defend the comments is fricking absurd.
What they don't seem to understand is, cultural changes don't happen overnight. Until my and their generations are older and running the country, you will only see slow, incremental change. All they're doing, is pissing everyone off, including most left leaning people.
