I have no connection to Louisiana, but I feel like this removal can have a far reaching effect throughout the south.
It isn't necessarily the act of monument removal that bothers me. What bothers me is that they're being removed essentially in secret with absolutely no unity/consensus from the city's residents. That is just dangerous.

The city has said the 600k was privately funded but won't say through who, I think it's correct to assume it's Cuzan considering its the exact number they bid

Hopefully this helps the city forget about the past. With no contract, no bids, and no statue remaining, it's almost like they want us to believe the obelisk never existed, and that the Battle for Liberty Place never happened.
It's bad enough most people have no idea what it was about, even though 8000+ people took part in it and 30+ people died on both sides.
