But they fought for states that wanted to persevere that terroristic institution?

How and why should the slaves have had any confidence in those people to do right? They'd been practicing their devilish institution for hundreds of years at that point. Don't see why they or I should believe they ever would have stopped had they won.

Good defeated Evil in that battle, IMO

If there's anything that I learned from my 26 years in New Orleans, it's that if they do corruption better than most.

When the "union" is fricking over the states for decades without any regard, the union needs shaking up.

All I care about is the money. This is a massive waste of tax payer dollars. This is going to cost well over $1,000,000 for a city that is broke. We pay a fortune in property taxes in Lakeview and Uptown and our roads are undriveable.

In another 150 years do you think minorities will still be blaming their shitty existence on slavery? At what point do people hold themselves accountable for their actions?

Well hey strongsafety, race relations in Nola are now officially fixed, roads are better, and crime is down. All due to these statues. You guys really stuck it to whitey! How will he go on with his life. Ohhhhh that's right, whitey is gonna find new ways to oppressed POC. (At least that's what the new narrative is gonna say)

Have you ever heard of the term appeasement? Basically, your side is like a crying toddler who's throwing a fit to get what they want. You were just given a pacifier. I bet it falls out again and the crying starts all over again. Wonder what it'll be this time? Maybe the smoothie king arena is next, because rich white men pay lots of money to watch African Americans jump high and slam a basketball all for our entertainment.

Sometimes you are just outnumbered by voting shitheads. Take Detroit and Jackson for example.

Well would you feel the same way if they wanted to remove a significant piece of history wherever you call home

I am just playing devil's advocate here, but what if Germans wanted to keep up swastikas and put up statuses of famous people in Hitler's army? It is part of history.. But would you understand why people would be against it?

A better comparison would be of France keeping up statues of Napoleon, or Germany keeping up statues of the Kaiser, or of Northern Ireland keeping up statues of Oliver Cromwell.

The Nazi reference is slightly skewed due to the Holocaust.

I like how he says that like it has any relevance. Were the statues bought and paid for with private funds? If not, and they are public property, should the public not get the chance to decide if they stay up or come down?

Said my ancestors, circa 1600.

It's funny how much confederlosers support upheavals, tyranny and rebellion...but when others try it the first thing they scream is AMERICA!

"We've been calling out that bullshite and hypocrisy" - insert slaves name, circa 1600
