I would not call it murder , because that is a crime. Killed would be better.
Edit. Oops. I thought the robber was killed. Execute them

if 4 white guys murdered a black student it would absolutely be the headline news all over the country ...
The MSM is directly responsible for the racism of lowered expectations. White people ganging up on a black person and murdering them is news worthy because it's uncommon.
When the MSM refuses to make something like this a leading story that highlights the tragedy of someone in the prime of their life trying to better themselves getting murdered by thugs, it's racist in that it paints the picture of, "well, we expect this behavior from people like this and thus it is not news worthy."

STARKVILLE – Two of the five suspects being held in connection with a Sunday morning shooting in the Cotton District now face capital murder charges.
On Thursday, officials upgraded the charges against Syboris A. Pippins, 18, and Jaylen Barker, 20, both of Columbus. They are now being held on bonds of $2 million apiece. If convicted of capital murder, both could face the death penalty.

Usually you'd be right, but Donald fricking Trump just won the election. It's going to be hard to top that.
