Has Mississippi ever had particularly bad scores when you adjust for demographics?

I would think the vast majority of states would be very close, with some states like Vermont and Mass being better and states like West Virginia and Mississippi being worse.

Are we sure that they know how to average over there?

Could be a rounding error...

so MS and LA have more intelligent white and asian kids than MA/NJ/CO? I'm skeptical

They are saying our racial and socioeconomic demographics outperform the corresponding racial and socioeconomic demographics of those lily white states.

Mississippi should be proud, most folks will continue to dog on it. This is some really good news.

The progress that state has made in such a relatively short amount of time is seriously impressive

And Mississippi will still probably be at the bottom of the nation in test scores when you don't adjust for demographics.

Not even close to the bottom when using unadjusted numbers. Just remain ignorant and refuse to educate yourself on changing trends. It’s an easy way to go through life. All you had to do was look at the chart that was right there in front of you instead of making a comment not supported by facts.

This shows objective evidence that MS changes in education beginning in 2012 are working, whether adjusted or unadjusted.
