have to say, when I saw this thread, I didn't think we were talking about 18 year old college students...

cops with this much time on their hands need to be demoted to crossing guards or something like that find em something to do during the day lol
Holy crap. Does your keyboard lack basic punctuation keys? Seriously, put the bong down and type with both hands.

The bigger thing is Keith Davis, the guy in charge of all this, directly threatened to murder an Ole Miss student if he does not comply to this. He should be in jail over this. He's human scum and I hope the Oxford community starves him out of town over these facts that have now come to light. Talk about human garbage.

Just watched the 60 minutes piece he's a real tough guy with 18 year old kids. The Oxford DA should bring him up on charges. Keith Davis human scum shite bag is right.

It sets a great example for figures of authority to take advantage of, and exploit others.
Early stages of pushing people over the edge, but who cares because in places like louisiana, there is decent money in the prison business.

This is outrageous. Totally wrong for cops to be doing this.

The University of Mississippi grows pot for research.
They get federal grants.
They have the only federal permit to do so, and they grow it for the 22 federal marijuana patients.
It's great stuff, btw...

For years, suspects arrested on drug offenses had the option to pay a fine — sometimes as high as $25,000 — directly to Metro Narcotics and plead guilty to a lesser charge, according to court documents.
This is fricking extortion sanctioned by the government.
It's absolutely absurd that smoking a little weed is an excuse to ruin somebody's life.

Yep the 60 minutes thing is the reason I posted this
He needs to be fired
It's scary somebody like that has a badge and these laws should be fixed
Get somebody decent in there with some balls to start fixing things

No, he needs to be in jail for it. And I know that he'd be a very popular member after all the shite he's done. I'd laugh my arse off on the karma he'd receive.

I've heard stories of this same thing happening at lsu

Who gives a shite about murder, rape, and thieves?
Someone might be pushing a fricking joint.
Everyone knows a joint is a gateway drug to a A-Bomb.

I don't know about LSU specifically but in the early 2000's it was happening a lot in BR. It wasn't DEA but EBRSO and LPSO. They were doing this same song and dance. Interestingly enough, one of the fat fricks from LPSO went on to kill some kid and avoided charges.
Drugs are

im surprised so many people dont realize anything under a ounce is like 6 months probation
their talking 3 purshaces equaling 12 grams lol thats like 20$ bags
I want to meet your dealer. 12 grams is basically 3/8ths in weed math. In BR an 1/8th will cost you $60

penalties weren't that bad in EBR parish. Generally first offense of up to an ounce was six months unsupervised probation and a $500 fine.

Nah, these kids are expendable. What's one less drug dealing informant off the street? Besides, it's easier to lose CI's than real undercover police officers. This is an easy decision to make.

It's one of those things where they cops lie about the charges. They like to pile the shite on and make things worse than they really are. Granted it is up to the DA to prosecute but to a kid in an interrogation room for the first time it could be hard to tell them to go to hell.
Kind of like when the cops catch you with plants, they like to weigh the whole thing in the pot with the dirt.
The only thing more retarded than the war on drugs is the men and women running around arresting people for a plant all the while thinking they are doing something noble.
