I wonder what came up when they ran the plates or what the protocol is for that situation, you would think they would at least try to contact someone to figure out why they found their car on the bridge

Yeah - why would they tow a car with a phone still in it - and maybe other personal items?

So weird

Sounds like a WBRSO coverup job

Have they checked the local ATM machines in the area because she may have needed to go there first so she could retrieve her car from Riverside as they take cash only?

Looks like she called her mother after the crash and the person who read ended her went to the hospital. But when the police showed up she was no where to be found. This seems odd.

Makes sense it would get towed, and depending on location of the phone it may not have been obviously visible and I could see them not tearing apart a car

It seems like it was already reported as a safety issue by other passing cars and then caused a wreck on bridge when car couldn’t change lanes.

Comments below more to general topic:

My issue is all info is coming from uncle from Houston who didn’t drive over until today. Earlier for advocate story He even said he hadn’t spoken to his brother after some time on Wednesday. Everything he has said may be accurate, but parents might have been given more info.

Other question is jurisdiction. Car left and caused wreck on part of bridge where WBR would respond according to a post, BR police confirmed wreck to Advocate, and LSU is handling investigation. Is LSU running it because campus is last confirmed sighting since she wasn’t seen with vehicle on bridge and no evidence of a crime or of her anywhere else yet?

If she was in jail then why are the BR police looking for her?

I guess but from the KATC website:

quote:

Jones told us the vehicle was empty, but police found her phone and wallet inside.

Jones is the guy that hit the car - to me it sounds like they found the phone and wallet on the bridge - I could be wrong. I guess it’s not the policeman’s job to do any thing else except get the car towed.

Who is reporting this? The guy who hit car said no one was in it, but if he went to hospital he may not recall everything.

No such thing as coincidences. Only probabilities.

Just because something has a probability doesn’t mean it’s not a coincidence. Of course there are coincidences; That is just a sophomoric thing people say to sound smart.

Sorry if this part has already been posted

“Kori Gautier, 19, was headed back to her dorm on LSU's campus. But around 1 a.m. Wednesday, Deven Jones said he crashed into her parked car on the bridge. Jones says he tried to avoid hitting the car but couldn't get over because of traffic.

"I looked inside the vehicle I hit, and there was no one inside of it. When the police got there, they opened the door and found the young lady's driver's license, wallet, and her phone. The car was running," Jones said.

Saw it on it LSU parents FB page, but the news story contradicts it. I don’t know what to believe

There are traffic cameras on the MS River bridge at both approaches going both ways. If this happened, there is undoubtedly video evidence.

You would think that LSU Police would have already reviewed the traffic camera footage before asking the public for information.

That being said, it’s possible that the DOTD cameras just didn’t catch enough detail at 1 AM. Are there additional cameras that don’t show up on the DOTD website?
