She went to ex's house to get their kids to evacuate to Dallas before Harvey
He says she texted him she was coming to get the kids and never showed up. Her car was found in flood waters in a motel six parking lot in Baytown. They found her body last night in a field near his house and arrested him.

No, she was not pregnant. She divorced him back in 2008 and then found out she was pregnant right around the same time so they reconciled and stayed together and had another child. They had remarried and then she divorced him again and this divorce was final a few months ago. She was staying with the ex-husband to make it easier for the kids while her town house was being built. The cruise was planned a long time ago and when it came time, she decided to bring the new boyfriend instead of the ex. He found out about her new relationship and killed her.
