It’s pretty clear from the footage of the home from which the kids left for Horn Island that some of these kids’ parents have VERY deep pockets. Nolan’s mother’s behavior is beginning to look more and more sus to me.

Reading social media comments on this case makes me 100% positive we’re closer in the timeline to Idiocracy than we are to flying cars.

Anything interesting in there?

Not really. They went to the Island. Some security cam footage of the kids getting on the boat. Basically just the only people to actually go out to the Island and show the lay of the land. That's about it.

ETA: And one big old fat baw rubbing his belly and photobombing the shot while they were on the island.

I did like hearing from the young man (Warren Hudson) in the Brandon Tatum interview. Pretty intelligent young man. Nolan’s mom was making it sound like his black friend was the only person he hung out with. This young man was saying Nolan would sleep at his house frequently over the years and he almost never talked to Nolan’s mom. He also mentioned how the boat console was absolutely filled with cell phones. He explained the whole Gulf Coast boating culture and how people left their phones mostly on the boat. He mentioned the boat trouble they were having and Nolan was asked to get on the boat to leave. He refused. Warren helped clarify everything for me. These particular kids were not negligent in any way. They weren’t even on the island when he went missing.

Yeah, nothing really new has been revealed for those of us who are from or know people on the Gulf Coast (my nephew and his wife live in Ocean Springs). But it was nice for the outside agitators to get educated about how things work.

I feel sorry for Nolan's siblings. Because of their parents' actions, rather than being embraced by the greater community, they are ostracized. They are going to have to move. Ocean Springs is a great place to live. They screwed that up for nothing.

People in Ocean Springs don't appreciate Crump, Sharpton, the Black Israelites, NBPP and the associated circus messing up their Summer.

Nothing but another Fake Outrage Democrat Grift.

These people are so stupid they actually think Al Sharpton and Ben Crump are in it to help the family

If they actually cared, why do they ignore all the black juveniles killing each other every weekend ?

Don’t waste your time doing that. You’ll just drive yourself mad. Social media is no way a reflection of reality. Only like 10% of the world uses twitter. And with all the bots and crap, it’s a cesspool.

Not saying we don’t have a lot of idiots out there either, we def do.

How anyone can take Nancy Grace seriously, or even get past her voice is beyond me...

She basically the white version of Candice Owens now...

I suspected that this would end up being the case. It’s hard to see how the community will be able to get past the hard feelings that have been stirred up. Accepting that this was a tragic drowning from the start would have placed Nolan’s family in a unique position of sympathy, and earned them lifelong goodwill from those who knew and admired him. That scenario has been squandered now.

I’d be interested to hear from someone on the ground in Ocean Springs about how they are faring there. A good friend from college was from OS, and introduced me to it back in the day. I have enjoyed visiting there for many years. We actually have an upcoming trip scheduled. I’m wondering now what that will be like.

Good grief! Nancy Grace is INSUFFERABLE!!!!

She goes on and on about the credentials of the guest ME on her show, but after he gives a plausible explanation for the discoloration on the back of Wells' head, she says, "I'm not buying it."

The look on his face was classic. It was utter disbelief.

Can't wait for the toxicology report to come out. The circumstances of his death will come into focus a lot more.

Crump will find some way to disparage whoever authors the findings.

What I don't get, is why the parents were so quick to say that the sheriff was wrong in saying that it appeared to be drowning and/or no foul play. Isn't that SOP? Otherwise, people would be demanding that something be said by LEO.

And why were they so quick to hire civil rights attorney before the state autopsy was complete? Mother is a certified Nurse Practitioner. Doesn't she understand that some tests take time?

You don't hire Crump and align yourself with Sharpton and gang for sympathy. They are there to get the money by any means necessary.

frick the parents.

My nephew lives in Ocean Springs and had to let a few folks go because of this mess. Not because they were directly involved but because there were arguments and almost fights on job sites. It's a mess.

Looks like it was not all about racism. Sharpton, and T.O. all spotted at the Beau Rivage . Guess they decided to go on vacation themselves. If Sharpton lost that will be another lawsuit .

Can you imagine these guys at the pool area?

One of the things about OS that has always impressed me is the strong sense of community there. It’s like a real life version of the quirky, but idyllic small towns that are so popular in our media culture. I hope a way can be found to move past this that knits the bonds there even tighter than before. A way was found to move through the devastation after Katrina, and come back stronger. May a good path also be found out of this darkness.

I go to Ocean Springs almost every time I go to Biloxi.

There is more there. Between the Beau and Golden Nugget on 90, there is not much to eat or anywhere to shop that's not off the beaten path.

If I lived in or wanted to live in MS, OS would be my 1st choice.

There are arts and crafts festivals and other happenings in downtown OS. It is a nice place.
