Miss America contestants are average

I understand that they want to go beyond being a beauty contest but I must say the majority of these girls are average. There are a few stunners but most of these girls are plain Janes.
It has to be part of the whole “Plus size is beautifil - love yourself no matter what you look like” movement. OK so maybe there is no such movement but you get what I’m saying
