I moved to California. Literally no one here cares about Louisiana. Even the people that moved here from Louisiana.

Then don't! We're not real proud you were born here either!

Years ago, ( about 30) I was up in New Jersey and I told them I was from La. They thought kids went to school in pirogues.

When I've told people I'm from New Orleans, no matter where I am, every single one has had a positive reaction.

No, when I tell them I've been to Louisiana, they ask if the people there are as dumb, poor, and fat as the state rankings always claim.

I then ask them, "Is a frogs arse water tight"?
When I tell people I've been to Missouri they ask "Why?"

There are people that live north of Marksville that think they live in Louisiana.

No. The questions don't come from Missourians, rather people from more interesting places, like Oklahoma or Nebraska.

Most people think Louisiana is New Orleans, surrounded by a huge swamp.

As you fly into MSY, that's what it looks like.

Moved out of state four years ago. Whenever I say I was from Louisiana I NEVER get asked any questions about Louisiana…..EVER. Nobody gives a shite.
