I mean... they still have to run a business and be profitable. So to keep profits on pace after a wage increase, the thing to do would be to raise menu prices. It's not that hard to figure out...

A real winner...

US Govt: Americans were killed on January 6. If we don't hold the insurrectionists accountable, it'll be even deadlier next time.

Americans: Agree, can we hold Israel accountable for killing US Citizens Shireen Abu Akleh and Jacob Flickinger?

US Govt: ....No

So here we have a democrat activist pushing left wing propaganda.

eat it up

All it does for me is show me that just because you have a degree doesn’t make you smart.

Why do people stop at fast food when they talk about pay. Most professionals have to switch jobs just to keep up with inflation. It's not just fast food. Nobody wants to pay anybody.

Don't get me started on the border. Illegals are let in this country on purpose to have a steady stream of cheap labor to keep wages low.

If you can't attack the facts, attack the messenger. That is what everyone is doing so far.

A tweet from an activist with no other context is facts I guess.

A lot of these franchises are relying on their people in stores to do the right thing and follow laws. the ceo of chipotle isnt clocking people in and out at the segundo franchise in california.

Supposedly they had an autoclock out system, probably because of dumb employees not clocking out and stealing hours. problem is some manager worked when they were clocked out. So thats how that lawsuit started.

Okay, so the government increased wages and imposed fines raising the cost of doing business.

Should have just done what Panera did and gave that $1mil to Newsome. I'm sure he could have created a carve out for them.

ETA: Or move to making your tortillas in house from scratch. Boom, you fall under the bakery exemption.

Businesses aren't in business to give people jobs, they are in business to make money. If they aren't hitting their profit margin (which is generally 7%-10%, at least for small businesses), they have to trim somewhere.

Along with that, fast-food work is a very low-tier skillset. As such, it's not going to pay much nor should they pay much as those are entry-level positions.

EZ Bake oven and a can of refrigerated biscuits be a whole lot easier than in-house tortilla making and still qualifies for exemption.
