You're mistaking millenials for crack dealers. Common mistake. Invest in a shotgun.

Cruising is illegal around here. Signs posted up in every suburb and small town. Hell, even downtown Nashville has no-cruising laws.

We did it all around BR in the 70's and 80's. Burger King, Lobdell was Tara, McDonald's Sharp was Broadmoor, McDonald's College was Lee, McDonald's State Street was U-High, McDonald's Jones Creek was Woodlawn and we all went between each one.
Then we actually built bonfires on the riverside of the levee at the end of Brightside and would head there.
And on Sunday afternoon we went to Highland Road park, kicked hackie sacks, throw frisbee's, drink beer, smoke weed and watch Edwin Edwards ride his horse around shooting the shite with us and ride off with a high school girl on the back of the horse.

I appreciate that you get this. Everyone downvotes just to downvote without really thinking about which generation destroyed cruising.

Only lived in Monroe for a short time, and I thought it was just a few of my friends that said that. Pretty funny to hear that after a few years of being gone!

They're probably just busy trying to figure out ways to fix the economy that baby boomers destroyed and the environment that the previous generations mortgaged because it wasn't their own problem.
Say what you want about millenials, but they are the RESULT of the previous generation's crappy behavior.
Bless your heart. You guys have it so hard these days. Sending up prayers for you right now.

its so weird, these kids arent even excited about getting their drivers license
I remember the day I got mine, it was freedom, I could just go cruise around town. Friday and Saturday nights were spent just driving around, looking for parties, meeting up at taco bell, finding someone who had access to beer or liquor and looking for some arse
I have no idea what kids these days do, but its not that. On any friday or saturday night you could go by the taco bell in mandeville (now closed) or the sonic in covington and there would be 50 or more kids there. you never see this anymore.

It could be the fact that by the time I got my drivers license, you had to pay out the arse for gas.

"Cruising" still exists, towns have just gotten bigger. High school kids will forever need places to drink and smoke pot, when you get a car at 16 it turns into a mobile party. High school kids will also always be partying on the levee or have a knack for finding hidden lots to drink around bonfires. If you drink and are between 16-18, you have likely spent a large amount of time riding around in a vehicle trying to figure out where to go next.

We didn't cruise so much as drive around for a bit before loitering for a few hours in a parking lot. Someone plays some music, you hit on girls, someone has a joint, someone has a fifth of something. Late 90s/early 00s.
But millennials didn't kill that (I guess I'm a millennial). The problem is that other people whose crimes exceeded doing donuts in parking lots took over the cruising and loitering activities.
Blame them.
