Playing video games, watching Netflix and staying inside as much as possible?

There's certainly differences due to culture but the result isn't much different

It's not the economy

It seems to be trending toward a norm. I'm certain world wide the pctg are small but I'd bet they are similar across cultures. It's a refuge for exaggerated social withdrawal.

I didn't go to high school with many but I knew plenty of that group who burned out after a year or two of college.

People are smoking way less cigarettes these days so they are missing out on the appetite suppressing side effects of nicotine.
