The problem with that is you weren't able to step back when you were 18-30 years old and make that sort of honest assessment about your generation when they were that age. You can't make the same type of assessment about your generation since you weren't capable of doing it.

what you don't realize is I have done an honest assement of my own generation and can say we were nothing like this current generation when we were your age.

Honestly the biggest wake up call I've had since graduating and getting out in the real world is that I know just as much or more about life/the world than my older coworkers. Living with confidence is the best way to be successful, but it pays to stay humble at the same time. Sounds like you're bitter about something in your past, hope you figure out how to fix that.

Okay kid. keep on thinking you know more than everyone who came before you and the end result is you'll go through life without learning anything.

he's bitter because he didn't have a typical ot childhood (which i really am sorry for, i can't imagine) that included two parents, caviar, audis, private school, and lots of cocaine.

Arguing

And there it is. You consider this arguing. Your elders refer to it as conversation. There are no winners in a conversation, just more informed participants.

You sound as if someone always has to be right or wrong about what is being discussed.

The conversation is about generations. Try to keep up.

You say this as you are telling him he is wrong.

That isn't even what I said, moron. You have to be 16 to be a bagger, 18 for anything else. We have equipment like balers and floor Jacks that requires being 18 to use. Meaning you have to be 18 to have my job.

But please, by all means, continue to bitch about millennials mooching off everyone while simultaneously deriding someone for a hard working job that isn't glamorous in your eyes.

If you only had a brain, you'd realize everyone calling you a hypocrite is speaking the truth

Right, but intelligent people can recognize that generalizations about a broad population don't necessarily fit specific individuals within that population. But you seem to want to assign any millenial in this thread the same qualities.

That's called the "ecological fallacy." See, you can learn something from kids, can't you. Go google it.

Idk how one is supposed to have an enlightening conversation with someone who simply repeats nonsense like "not having a pot to piss on" & "being on mom's tit".

Making generalizations about such a large group of people is stupid enough, much less trying to gauge where a single individual he's never met is in their life based off of a message board. I assure you he would be largely impressed about my financial & overall life outlook for someone my age.

Look I think you have a preconceived notion in your head that every millenial is a spoiled know it all. It just isn't true, and it's nice knowing our generation is taking over sooner rather than later.

I don't think I made that accusation anywhere. I just think he doesn't have enough "life experiences" in being so adamant about his pov.

My point of view is his generation wasn't much different. I seriously doubt they were the enlightened and accomplished bunch that he made them out to be at the current millennials' ages.

It's also amazing that he is able objectively remember with such clarity what his entire generation was like 30 years ago to try to make similar comparisons to the current generation. I'm impressed.

This is the biggest falsehood about the millenials. We are graduating college and getting professional jobs across the board at a historic rate. Are some of our generation living at home at 25? Yes, but they have full time jobs. They stay at home because the generation before them screwed over everyone else by defaulting on their home loans.

Has a social anthropologist posted in this thread yet or is it a whole lot of spouting rhetoric from very narrow fields of view?
