The Army isn’t the Marines, they aren’t looking for a few good men, they’re looking for any men.

Just saw an army commercial where they made everything look like a glorified COD game where everyone is a super soldier.

Is this your first exposure to advertising???

This statement is bull shite. Miltary members, on average, are smarter than the civilian population.

..it’s the same population. There wouldn’t be a difference

Wait until the join the National Guard thinking they will do high speed shite, get to their unit and get issues ACU gear which has been out of date for atleast two years now. Then get to go on hurricane orders two months before you "deploy" for a year in Kuwait.

Army - You’re not very smart and can catch bullets well, not necessarily with your hands.
Marines - Are you Latino? Do you have a predisposition for domestic abuse or murder of your spouse?
Navy - Are you Latino? Do you have a predisposition for domestic abuse or murder of your same sex spouse?
Space Force - What the frick is that?

This is about the most accurate assessment I've seen. It does leave out the USCG, which I don't count as military.

Less than 1% will actually see combat. Everyone else is a desk jockey or POG

did the Marine Corps ever increase their recruitment from high school chess clubs?

They did when they let Officers kill dragons.

The best of everything; best food, the best quarters, the best OCONUS assignments, best looking women, Basic and OTS are summer camp compared to the others. Did I mention the women?

GTFO, I don't know any NCO or Officer who wanted to be a recruiter, most don't have a knack for it and they don't set the numbers, especially when the politicians have us in loosing wars, and the senior leadership has made a habit of lying to those politicians.

I must have missed the advertisement showing carrying a 60lb pack and a M60 while going for a less than leisurely 26 mile stroll wearing combat boots caked with 2" of Alabama red clay in the middle of August.

Fun times...... seriously, it was fun (35 years ago).

… yeah.

It’d be different if you didn’t get non-vol’d to be a recruiter. The problem kids are the ones who wear knee pads over their Class B pants because they know that will get them strat’d for rank if they suck hard enough for their leadership (which means making quotas at all costs).

Honestly, most everyone in the military is highly intelligent. The problem is they are children. 18-24 age range and zero life experience, then they make NCO and get told they are responsible for keeping other kids from killing, raping, and misidentifying genders.

Nobody in that age group is going to come in right away and think that the military is any different than it was painted to them initially unless they are a fast burner.

Preach, I have a cousin on the street right now. Infantry in the Army. Has about a year left before heading back to a Division. I think he got selected for 1st Sergeant, waiting time till promotion and praying he makes mission/office, and get hell outta Dodge. I never worked the streets(Recruiting Duty). I pulled multiple Marine Security Forces billets. Thank God I made it to retire 10 years ago.
