I hope this new tiger is meaner than the boogie man himself.

I just hope that the university is smart enough to install video and audio equipment in his enclosure to pipe him into the stadium. They can still keep Mike as part of the pregame activities even if they're committed to putting as little stress on him as possible.

Even better if he's the type of cat that will roar at the drop of a hat, though.

I'd love to see a cub. He will have big shoes to fill. Mike VI was the GOAT!!! Had a great personality, and loved kids. Mike V was always full of piss and vinegar, and had a true hatred for the human mascot in the costume. Mike IV I only got to see once and just seemed like a chilled Tiger.

Can't wait to see the new Mike!!!!

When the tiger is fully grown, why don't you go in the cage with him to see how "gay" the tiger is.

I wish we could rescue Tony and have a habitat for him. I know he wouldn't cone from proper channels but there needs to be a mechanism to rescue tigers in his situation.

Wish we had a tradition like Auburn's Eagle flyover where Mike VII would do a 100yd dash to the endzone then maul a piñata, full of meat, resembling that weeks oponent.

Usually from a refuge.

We go over to India and smuggle them out of the wild. Then we beat the living hell out of them until they listen to us. We keep em in a 6 foot by 6 foot cage and only take them out on gameday when we drive them around and electrocute them to make them roar.

At least that's what the PETA petition told me

Usually from a refuge that is a dump compared to the habitat on LSU's campus. We are basically rescuing them from the pound.

You mean LSU has more money to spend than most nonprofit zoos/animal sanctuaries.

Whatever animal is chosen practically wins the lottery...

Except for the lifetime of solitude and abstinence.

I know PP7 and TM7 and hung with them at a game last year and while we were bullshitting about old times I suggested that they buy LSU a baby tiger cub and surprise the fans by walking him out on the field on a leash. They were hyped about that idea. So if they do it, I'm claiming my credit now.

Male Tigers spend their lives in Solitary in the wild except for when they are mating.

They have very little to complain about aside from those with more extreme views like being against any animals kept in captivity.

Mike is going to live in a certified animal sanctuary and will no longer be paraded around the stadium.

While I'm sad he will no longer go to games, I think it is fair compromise if it allows us to keep a live Tiger on campus for generations to come.

Instead of ruling it out before even knowing what tiger they're getting, they should see if the new one is up for a ride into the stadium. It's not as if they all have the same personalities.

But they do like a piece of arse from time to time.

I've always wanted to build a second enclosure and get a female and try to set up a breeding program. After all, we're the LSU Tigers, not the LSU Tiger, so it's only fitting we have more than one.

Also, two tigers on campus is precisely twice as badass as one tiger on campus. Just think about it. Mizzou and Auburn? 0 tigers. LSU? >=2 tigers.

Ya, but Auburn has a bald eagle that flys into luxury box windows... that's tough to beat
