I can't believe people are upvoting this. I'm a grandpa of a driver, but it still drives me nuts when someone barely going faster than the right lane speed stays in the left lane for an extended passing session. Speed up and get out of the way. You said "someone comes out of nowhere" to make your point, but that's not right. They'd have to be going 100 mph for you not to have been able to predict that your extended passing session would cause them to slow down.
too bad.

The car filming should have followed the truck and called the cops. Dude probably got away.
Um I'd say they did the right thing stopping for that car that just got tossed off the interstate

. You can find a gap and go around me. I belong in the fast lane at 80 mph.
No, you belong in the fast lane if you are overtaking a vehicle in the right lane. If someone wants to pass, regardless of speed and you can reasonably get over without changing your own, get over.
But I think I get what you meant and agree.

That's fine, just don't pretend that you actually are doing your part to help traffic flow better.

Looks like only a very small handful of states actually say the left lane is for passing only
only state i give a shite about is LA.... and it's law to get over from the left lane here...

dangerous driving condition
that would be the asshat upset over someone speeding and passing others.
frick that guy.

Both, actually. The guy in the left lane, and the guy who ran him off the road.

I do understand and am passing people at 80 mph. You're not entitled to drive as fast as you want in any lane. If I'm consistently passing people at 80 mph, then I belong in the passing/fast lane. Pretty simple concept.
Until you arent passing someone, but just left-lane cruising like the other douches....

Pretty shocking to me that there are people here sympathetic with attempted fricking murder.

they're all alpha.
all the time.
because you're more of a man if you go ahead & rear-end someone who is playing road games. that makes the chicks wet.

If it's taking me a full minute or more to pass, I usually will speed up but that puts me 10+ mph over the speed limit (which I try to avoid). Just seems like a no-win situation.
When I say 'comes out of nowhere', I mean that they weren't in the picture when I moved into the left lane.

dont be dishonest. every single person is aware of someone coming up fast in your rearview mirror.
truck drivers are the absolute WORST. they won't take it off cruise control even if it takes 10 minutes to slowly pass the one in the right hand lane.
passive aggressive bullshite at its finest.
even so, being aggressive and pissy to 'punish' the slow trucker doesn't do anything productive and you risk the real chance of some bullshite like in this video.
not worth it.

not really
If I'm doing 80 I should slow down and merge in with slower traffic because you want to do 85-90?

Yes, really.

I don't drive 80, let alone 85-90. If you're holding up traffic, and don't move over, you're an a-hole. It's really that simple.

Wait, let me get this straight.
It's okay for you to speed, and people should recognize the passing lane for your purposes.
But those who want to speed a little more than you, no sir. Over 80mph is maniacal, bc I say so
no
I'm just not going to go out of my way to slow down and get over in the non passing lane when I clearly belong in the passing lane. It's as simple as that. If I can get over and not have to slow down, I'll do that.
We did clarify this is the "passing lane" correct? So if I'm passing people, then I don't see the problem.

It's not holding up traffic. It's holding up 1 person in ost cases. I'm fine with that. I'm not moving to the slow lane and dropping 10-15 mph for 1 person who wants to go 90 mph.
Again, when there is a large enough gap for me to get over and maintain my 80 mph or so, I'll do that.

I tell my kids often, "You can chose your actions, not your consequences." It applies to both here.
