I would highly recommend the Cayenne, my calendar keeper swears by it.

New highlander looks good for a crossover IMO

Yep, looked at them myself. Still looking at a crossover for the wife. Not looking to break the bank. Will be paying cash.

Pilot and Highlander went in opposite directions IMO

Highlander looking increasingly SUV-like, Pilot has looked increasingly like a minivan since 2015 or so

I just had a Lexus RX350 as a loaner while my car was in for service. My wife has an Infiniti QX60, which we bought because of the third row. Driving the RX for a day made us really second guess our purchase and wonder if we could have done without the 3rd row. It's ugly as sin, but the interior is just nicer. The drive is so much better. I'm very happy with my Lexus too, so just a fan of the brand. Not that the Infiniti is "bad", it's just not as nice.

You are asking this on a board full of baws who think a pickup truck is the only acceptable form of automobile.

I would take a look at a Durango as well. I had one for a company car a couple of years ago and it was a functional mid sized SUV that never gave me any problems. I may get one with the Hemi when my current company lease runs out next year.

Depending on how much space you need:

That is what the wife has now. Way to big and it is a 2007 and just turn 200K. Been a very good SUV besides a gas eating beast.

I'm in the early stages of picking my next ride. Currently looking at the Cadillac XT5.

Just get a loaded Highlander and avoid the issues even with luxury models.

Youve come to the wrong place

This board thinks that if a man drives anything other than a 3/4 ton truck he is gay

They think a Porshe 911 Turbo is for gays

My wife always gets them as a loaner too. I love it when she does. I agree with you 100%, they're ugly but they're extremely well thought out and comfortable. Lexus interiors hold up really well too in my experience.

actually think the VW Atlas is a good looking vehicle too, but not sure I'd buy a VW

What's the stigma on vw? I think the atlas and Passat are pretty good looking.

I just don't have any personal experience and it seems like the general consensus is mixed.

BMW X5 diesel. Would get a cpo with 100k warranty. Great gas mileage.
