My girlfriend is good friends with Mickey's sister and was friends with Mickey herself. It's interesting to hear her perspective of the things that were happening while she was missing and when she was eventually found.

I moved to Lafayette in 1991, and I had never seen anything like that when the city mobilized to find her. It was pretty cool to see the community could come together like that.

I vaguely remember how TD solved the case. Someone fill me in.

It's pretty strange to think that someone you work with / come into contact with in life could be just below their outer facade thinking about going on a killing spree or kidnapping someone or something crazy. You would think it would be apparent to an observer but those people are just that crazy I guess.

I don't remember all the details, but there was a poster whose sister was dating BSL at the time that Mickey went missing. Eventually the guy put 2 and 2 together and called in a tip to the cops.

Something like that

It wasn't like "TD solved the case"

That guy just happened to be a poster

Yes, he was dating someone related to a poster and recognized his truck when it was posted. Made a call about it and busted the case open.

Guy posted here for advice (great idea) on how to convince his sister to stop dating Brandon. He said the family had an uneasy feeling about him and maybe even had a background check on the guy and he had a shady past of which I don't remember exactly what that was. Then Mickey came up missing and the brother realized that Brandon drove the exact truck they were looking for and called it in. He never did come back and post if he told his sister "I told you so".

She fought hard but it was not enough. He was more than twice her size. She sprayed him with pepper spray first and then took his knife from him. She stabbed him like 5 times but unfortunley none of them were serious enough to incapacitate him. She fought like hell. I wish she had a gun or stun gun or a taser instead of pepper spray to start off with.

Whatever damage she did inflict was enough to warrant his trip to the hospital that ended up making a paper trail for the police to follow once they ID'd his truck.

I employed a guy that was cheating on his wife with a young girl. She gets pregnant and refuses to have an abortion, so he kills her. The neighbor next door, an elderly woman, over heard the killing, so he killed her to. He came to work the next day and there wasn't a single indication he had done any of that. It wasn't until that weekend, when he was killing on hogs on another employee's property, that I got a text from that employee saying the cops had shown up and arrested him for murder.

It would be interesting if admins would sticky/lock that old thread.

Adam4lsu's wife's sister was dating BL and he came on here to find out how to do a background check because her family thought he was shady. This happened right before she went missing. He tipped the cops off after BL came up with the story of being robbed in NOLA. A bunch of posts started disappearing when the cops were about to bust BL. It was pretty crazy.

Yeah before the M Shunick murder even happened adam4lsu came on the board asking about how to do a background check and explained his SIL was dating a POS who him and his father were very suspicious of.

After the killing happened I think Adam and his dad got super suspicious when the dude showed up at a family gathering with scars and bandages on him saying he got jumped by a gang in NO...they also knew his truck matched the description and for some reason he was in a different vehicle now. They contacted authorities.

Turns out the dude had already served time for a previous secxual assault while he was at Fort Polk and was associated with another woman who had been killed years prior and the murder was unsolved. I believe he was convicted of her murder as well.

No it didn't. Just because the dude was on here talking about BSL being a part of his family and being suspicious, doesn't mean the OT broke open the case. If anything, he was very cryptic and withheld information until after they talked to the cops first.

We actually did surgery to repair the ruptured tendon from one of his stab wounds. He gave the same story that he was jumped in NOLA. The other curious thing is that he was full of poison ivy....from burying that poor girl in the woods. I hope he's getting in the arse right now from a guy named Bubba

"A part" is pretty vague and a far cry from broke open.

But there was info in those threads that had to be deleted from public knowledge because the cops hadn't made an arrest yet and were closing in on the killer. Someone other than adam4lsu was posting in those threads, and this poster had ties with the investigation. So if you were reading the thread pretty regularly, you got real information that the police was having deleted because it was completely factual and important to the case.
