Why though? The mom was not having success breaking the window. Just how much longer should she have waited to try to get someone that was capable to handle it?

She tried once with a piece of asphalt. She was at a house, not out in the middle of nowhere, so there are presumably all kinds of heavy things present that you can use to break a window besides a crumbly chunk of road. She just panicked and lost her ability to think straight.

I can confirm breaking a car window is not easy

I tried with a brick and it took more than one try and some muscle to get it done

So this woman struggling to break the window isnt a surprise

And so you think a person in this condition could not benefit from emergency services?

10 minutes? Really? You couldn't bust the window for 10 minutes?

Male reported can't break car window with a hammer.

The 911 dispatcher is at fault. This is not up for discussion.

You should stop.

He's said multiple times that the dispatcher handled this poorly. However, to say that the mother bears no fault for completely shutting down her capacity to think her way out of a simple situation is equally as asinine.

But the dispatcher refused to send help, saying the police and fire departments don't unlock vehicles. yes they do.
no, not all agencies will unlock vehicles.
you fricking idiot...... they do unlock vehicles. Will they unlock your car if you locked your keys in your car? No. But if there is a child in there they will come and A) break your window or B) unlock your car

Yeah that the dispatcher handled that poorly.

I guess I just have a problem with her immediately running to the media and complaining when she resolved the issue herself before EMS would have arrived anyways, most likely.

It's a non story. She should be proud that she handled it herself.

you have to put effort into being as wrong as you are all the time......on every single topic discussed.

Even for the OT, there is a pretty overwhelming amount of stupidity taking place in this thread.

I swear the lack of common sense some people in positions of authority have is mijd boggling.

A baby could have died bc of a stupid bitch’s inability to display common sense.

Possibly. She could also benefit from a dispatcher telling her to seek help in her area from neighbors, bystanders, etc.

This is almost akin to medicaid deadbeats clogging up the ER for a headache.

Car windows are not easy at all to be broken. THey are made that way......

Hence, also why there are specific tools called window breakers.....

And the mom continually tried to get the window broken while the drandmother called 911

There is some very weird takes in here. And Salmon what the frick?

Since when did you become dumb?

The dispatcher should be terminated. She has shown that she is not capable and does not have one cell in her brain that would lead her to use common sense. This dispatcher is dangerous.

I guess this is how some of you picture yourselves.

Go to a junk yard and give it a try, it's not as easy as you think.

Nah until the actual transcript showed.

All bets are off after that. Clearly the woman should be fired.
