I mean there are definitely some toys that are geared more toward traditional gender interests but as long as they give the kid/parent the option for any of the toys regardless of gender it shouldn’t matter. The irony of the proposal is that it’s actaully stereotyping the gender interests to make the claim that it’s sexist. Just complete nonsense and a waste of time which is really what people should be upset about

No but why have gender segregated toys? I’ve raised both a boy and a girl, by and large girl toys suck and they all want the boy stuff. Kids want to play with things that are fun, the dolls and pink vs action figures and blue is imposed upon them. When you just let kids be kids they all go for Minecraft.

Why in the frick should the government get involved in a private company's decision on which toys to put in Happy Meals?

For me I don't like laws/proposals/rules/ whatever that cater to a select few while excluding everyone else. In this example what about boys that love transformers and masculine boyish toys? They can't have it. What about girly girls who like hello kitty or pink shite? They can't have it. So the majority are excluded for the benefit of a very small minority who probably never even thought of being offended or missing out on anything until someone told them they should feel that way.

They don't.
The child asks for the one they want and the minimum wage earner behind the counter will give the kid the requested toy or tell them which ones are available. We really don't need a law as kids have opinions on their materialistic needs.

I have a boy and a girl and they most definitely want different toys. My girl gets pissed if she gets a boy toy, and vice versa. Nothing is imposed. It’s what they want.
