Metairie's multifamily zoned areas have gone to hell in a handbasket in the last decade or so.
When I was growing up, the east bank's apartments and townhouses were used by either 1)families with kids, ALWAYS saving up for a house; or 2) swinging singles doubling up on a 2 bedroom apt. for a bachelor/bachelorette pad.
Now it's families of 6-10(often extended), Section 8 types, or mental whack jobs like this one.
Stuff's gonna drag the whole east bank down.

Metairie is well on its way to complete garbage. Trash has taken over, and i dont mean sanitation. Its the reason why the esplanade mall is almost gone, and section 8 has taken over once decent neighborhoods. How about the filth from Danny amd Clydes on Clearview going down to the service road to causeway blvd? Back in the day, crime was non existent

Fact is violent crime has been trending down quite a bit in Metairie the last few years

Crime is down in kenner and Jp, but there has been a lot of trash moving in.
Section 8 paying $1350 a month for vouchers sucks too. In my area had a $320k house and a $265k house sell. Then the house between them rented.... section 8. Ghetto as hell too, but no issues.
