Folks, I wrote what's in the below quote in the JBE Presser thread and maybe this doesn't deserve a thread of it's own, but given that the vast majority of those commenting in the thread obviously do not like what this governor is doing to our state, I'm hoping this will catch on and we can get a movement started to seek the assistance of AG Landry to fight for the rights of the citizens of our state...

So, now that I'm off of my soapbox, I know this is often asked for other things on this message board, but I would like to ask that we flood the AG's email seeking his assistance in obtaining relief from these unconstitutional mandates by this governor.

The AG isn’t the guy to stop it. Your state rep is. They have a mechanism by which they can end all of this.

It is our choice. The problem is that he’s gone after businesses to require it, effectively removing our choice.

Seems like anyone refusing to wear a mask would have standing to file suit challenging the order.

Your paltry "message" will not envoke anyone to action if reading Landry's absolute ripper of an opinion didn't.
Stay on the porch and let the big dogs handle this.
And I'm a bit confused why you think Landry needs a bunch of Cajuns flooding his inbox on a subject he's already shown to be on top of and willing to fight.

I agree, but I don't think the legislature is in session right now. I'm not certain what the time frame would be to get a special session or how they can intervene?

It was just an idea that would hopefully show our collective support and to hopefully ask him to take legal action. It is fairly obvious that the governor (the big dog as someone else stated) does think much of the AG's opinion. But, seeing a lot of the responses in the thread for the press conference it occurred to me that many don't like what the governor is doing...that's it.
Also, if you know of any legal action the AG is actually taking above his opinion letter, please fill us in.

Many businesses like Walmart, Kroger, Home Depot... don't give you a choice. We don't have a Gov issued mask policy where I live in MS but most businesses require a mask to enter.
