Well, millions of medical professionals wear them in sterile environments. Seems like proof enough of their efficacy in preventing the spread of airborne contaminants.
I’m sure you thought this was an intelligent thing to post. Yea, about that.

And I’m sure you thought you were intelligent linking that study which I’m not sure you read.
That study tested medical mask use vs cloth mask use vs a control. They stated only 1% of the control group did not use any mask at all and the remaining 99% used a cloth/medical/n95 mask. The controls deviated in that they did not wear a mask for the entirety of their 8 hour shift; only when appropriate. Their findings were that the constant medical mask usage performed best, followed by the control, and cloth masks performed the worst.
So the findings of that study are that masks are still effective, especially medical/surgical masks. Advice: If your argument is that masks don’t work, don’t link that article.

That doesn’t mean the design of the law as a separation of powers issue is flawed. The legislature delegated to the executive with a very simple mechanism to take back power.
The executive is exercising that power as he sees fit, but it is immediately able to be rescinded and nullified by a simple collection of signatures from the legislative, and most directly elected and accountable, branch.

Landry is like all republicucks, talks a lot of shite but that's it

Fck worrying about the mask. Get sloth to allow all businesses to be open and be open in a way that they can make money.
If we are all wearing mask shouldn’t that be safe?

but given that the vast majority of those commenting in the thread obviously do not like what this governor is doing to our state,
Y'all are also, apparently, a very vocal minority.
A republican sponsored poll had 70% of Louisianians with n favor of masks and almost 80% approval for JBE's handling of this.
Let's not forget: Trump told us to go back to phase 1 if not more. And is now telling everyone to wear masks.
JBE has so far ignored him on that.
Where's your vitriol for Trump?

Do you make it a common practice to prove something doesn’t exist
Yeah but putting a mask on is like hardly any inconvenience at all. At worst it is mildly annoying, at best it prevents this stupid virus and we can go back to normal sooner than later. Seems like the logical thing is just to wear the mask

I’m positive you either didn’t read it or don’t know how to read. That includes both this article and my comment on this thread you originally responded to.

First, you’re either wrong or lying. The study clearly states n95 were part of the 1% control group. If you can’t even get that part right then why should anything else you say be believed?
Regardless of the above, what does any of that have to do with my question about showing proof that cloth masks prevent the spread of coronavirus that you’re still unsuccessfully trying to come up with a valid response to?

So the findings of that study are that masks are still effective, especially medical/surgical masks.
“Conclusions: This study is the first RCT of cloth masks, and the results caution against the use of cloth masks. This is an important finding to inform occupational health and safety. Moisture retention, reuse of cloth masks and poor filtration may result in increased risk of infection. Further research is needed to inform the widespread use of cloth masks globally. However, as a precautionary measure, cloth masks should not be recommended for HCWs, particularly in high-risk situations, and guidelines need to be updated.”
“Discussion: We have provided the first clinical efficacy data of cloth masks, which suggest HCWs should not use cloth masks as protection against respiratory infection. Cloth masks resulted in significantly higher rates of infection than medical masks, and also performed worse than the control arm. The controls were HCWs who observed standard practice, which involved mask use in the majority, albeit with lower compliance than in the intervention arms. The control HCWs also used medical masks more often than cloth masks. When we analysed all mask-wearers including controls, the higher risk of cloth masks was seen for laboratory-confirmed respiratory viral infection.”

Advice: Make sure people are illiterate before you try telling them an article says something it clearly doesn’t say.
