My 11 month old boxer pup threw up all day Saturday and wouldn't eat or drink. Same story Sunday. We took her to the emergency vet and long story short...she evidently ate some plastic, causing an obstruction in her stomach which required surgery to remove. Cost me over $2,000 so far with emergency vet bills, overnight stays, and surgery charges. I love her to death, and she's like a kid to us, but damn the bad luck! She had to pick the worst possible weekend to get into some shite lol. I swear I'm gonna have to muzzle her crazy arse when I'm not watching her cause, she's sneaky as hell.

Glad she's ok.
Gotta keep those plastic pieces of junk, etc away from dogs.
I can't tell you how many times I've had to do the ol stick a finger in a dog's mouth and scrape out some plastic, etc. they are chewing on.

Should have taken it in Sunday morning as soon as you saw the condition hadn't changed. Would have saved you $1000 but I'm guessing your rationale for waiting was to save money.

Don't know why, but this reminded me of a story a guy told everyone at a party about his wife having a $2,000 fart. Apparently she was in pain and thought she had some sort of obstruction; the ER stuck a scope up her arse and just found a pocket of air.

She was not happy with him telling that story.

If you'd put him down on Saturday you could have saved trouble, had a good Christmas and saved a couple thousand bucks.

Next door neighbor dog resembles Duke from Bush beans commercials. Sweet dog that was put up for adoption for having an affinity for goats.
One day she got into my garbage and ate some foil covered wrapper.
Next day she shite it out and was fine.

Yeah, we took her Sunday morning. They did X-rays and blood work, kept her Sunday night and everything came back fine. Of course plastic doesn't show up in X-rays though. We took her home Monday and she drank a little bit of water and commenced to throwing up again. Had to bring her back Monday evening, they repeated X-rays and the rest is history. She hasn't spent a night at my house since Saturday night. At least the Vet got a good Christmas bonus.

The vet got a good Christmas bonus for saving your dog's life by working over the holidays and pay their staff and overhead? The vet got a bonus for simply doing their job?

How much do you think it would cost to have a few rednecks come out and pump your septic tank over Christmas?

More that $2000.

I don’t know where she got it from or even what it came from. I’ve tried to wrap my head around what it could be since Saturday and I still can’t figure it out. Could be some kind of toy one of my kids left laying around. I know it happened while I had my other dog outside and she was inside unsupervised. Maybe a total of 3 minutes.
