May be time for some self-reflection.

Yes. All the time.

The AP thing was a direct response to a specific question about what I read in high school.

Full disclosure, I have a BA double major in political science and philosophy, focusing on political theory.

So much of my reading wasn't on my own.

Bastiat, Hayek, Von Mises, etc. were though.

You not giving a shite is what led to this. We’re all guilty of this to one degree or another, and underestimating these commies saying they’d amount to nothing more than Starbucks baristas living in their parents’ basement was a horrible decision the sane made. You may not give a shite now, but the commies will find something you give a shite about and end you.

Pictures of books =/= proof you have read or understood them.

I know plenty of ignorant, arrogant dbags with Infinite Jest prominently displayed on their shelves.

I'm the one who's upset?

Your first reply to me:

Ah yes, because your average person just has a copy of Hegel sitting on their bookshelves to impress their friends while not having actually read it.

with respect, taking an AP European history class doesn’t make you an expert on much in its own right. If the man says he read those books, I have no reason not to believe him and I’m sure he has valid interpretations of the writings.

FWIW; I took AP Euro as well as APUSH and scored a 5 on both. They were fun and insightful classes but don’t make me an authority on the subjects. High school accomplishments aren’t worth bragging about in a discussion like this, my own humble brag included.

Tell me more about your extensive knowledge on pre-revolutionary notions of liberty.

I'm all ears.

No, but your average wannabe political philosopher takes pictures of them to prove a point to strangers on the internet.

Just because the world is going off the rails does not mean you have to go along with it.
