The GLAs might be the ugliest vehicle on the market right now. They're all over BR now.

That’s why they are popular now. They are expanding into the cheaper automobile market.

That little Mercedes GLA crossover hatchback thing they have looks extremely cheap. Because it is. I imagine Mercedes is growing a lot in the US by selling those lower end models. BMW is also stacking their lineup with crossovers now. X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6, and X7.

I don’t think Cadillac, Jaguar, and Audi have anywhere near that many crossovers yet.

Cadillac has done very little to market to Millenals.

They have a new smaller crossover coming out that looks very nice. And a few pretty legit performance “V Series” models.

I would drive a CTS-V.

Sorry, but for 2018 Consumer Reports had Mercedes ranked 14th (up two spots from 2016) and Cadillac came in dead last at 27th (down 6 spots from 2016) for reliability. Business Insider also had MB ranked ahead, as did JD Power and Associates, and USA Today.

Looks like the professionals disagree with you.

Nobody can touch Mercedes certified used warranty though. I bought a C250 a few years ago and it has a 5 year unlimited mile bumper to bumper warranty included just because it was certified pre owned. They will literally pay for anything outside of routine maintenance (oil, breaks, etc) if it breaks. Unlimited miles and 5 years from the production date of the car. They do this for all their certified pre owned vehicles.

All the other companies barely give you 36k miles and that’s if it’s brand new. They are all a joke compared to mercedes.

Where Cadillac went wrong was putting a V6 in nearly the entire model lineup. People that know this classic American brand don't really want a V6, I don't care if it has 400 hp. Look at what Dodge has done with RWD pushing V8's. Imagine that combined with Cadillac branding. When you think of Cadillac and their most popular models in history, what do you see? Big luxury and V8 under the hood with unmistakable authority.

Cadillac would be wise to move back in that direction while blending in the latest in fuel efficiency and technology. Stop trying to appeal to the masses, that's what Buick and Chevy are for.

I don't think I've been in a newer model Cadillac or Mercedes that was junk. I think Cadillac rides like a dream, can haul arse and sounds great. Same with Audi and BMW.

I concur.

No problems w my AMG e63. Bought it used. Extended warranty. No issues. But, I’m going to dump it soon as the warranty is almost done.

I can handle expensive basic maintenance, but no way I’m chancing a big repair.

Trying to be the top volume luxury car has always seemed counterintuitive to me. Exclusivity (and higher profit margins) should be the goal imo.
