If you have course hair the foil shavers are way better. Braun is the best. I couldn't get even close to a good shave with a rotary style shaver.

I bought a Braun series 9 a couple years ago and have never used another razor since. Gets just as close as using the Gillette. I also can shave on the run while driving.

I used to be one of these guys who said he would never use an electric. Screw blades. I think I got a Panasonic Arc 4 and it's great for like three years. Sure, your shave isn't quite as close as a blade, but you don't have to deal with foam and nicks and cuts. And it really doesn't take any longer.

same

I love my Norelco and yes the battery lasts forever so I can be a lazy frick and shave on my way into work (when I used to go to work).

Now it's in my home desk drawer and if my face feels scratchy I just pull it out and shave while I'm working.

If I miss any spots I'll use the wife's venus in the shower.

Don't tell her please.

I don’t understand the appeal of a close shave

A little stubble looks much better than a baby face

This. I like Schick hydro5.
Electrics always leave stubble.

Yeah and not fun for you female friends when going down, razor or a beard, the beard can be used other sensation erotic activities, just like fur lined gloves turned inside out.

A couple of years ago I got a Norelco one blade pro, goatee at the time, and haven't bought blades since. It gets close, feels like I have shaved. Use wet or dry.

I'm in the market, and it seems like a few in this thread like the Braun series 7, but I'm seeing 4 different models...which do you baws have?

I see 7893s, 7865cc, 7071cc, 7085cc, and 7020s on Amazon.

Looking to switch from Gillette Mach 5 blade to an electric razor. One that gives a close shave. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

You dumb? Unless you want a stubble look or a beard of various length, an electric razor isn’t going to do much for you. I use one because I don’t like the clean shaven look.

You want a close shave? Learn how to use a quality safety razor.

I bought this recently, but still find I need a use a normal blade after I am done with it. I think you can get it from Costco online only for like $160. By far the cheapest price I have seen.

Have had a variety of Norelco's with decent results. Based on the OT's rec in a thread a few years ago, tried a Panasonic and been pleased, better result than the Norelco's and when you wet shave with it, gets awfully damn smoooth. Most days tho its just a quick dry run and off to work

No electric razor will be as good. I went the opposite way last year and haven’t looked back (electric to 5-blade razor).
