I know a few, and every one of them changed their name somewhere between college and 25. Each case it was seemingly a coming-of-age thing where they were attached to a last name that meant nothing to them personally (never knew their dad), so they decided to honor their maternal side.

Always wondered how their wives felt; I’m sure everyone assumes it’s their maiden name + married name.

I know one guy who’s dad has always been in the picture, but his parents hyphated his name because his mother's family is New England upper crust, they wanted that name on everything attached to him.

I only ever knew one guy with a hyphenated last name. He had his name legally changed in his 30's. Hid dad died when he was a young boy. His mom remarried and his stepdad pretty much raised him. He changed his name legally as a way to honor his step father who raised him while still honoring the memory of his deceased father.

But otherwise I think liberal parents, cuck or he's got the ghey.

1. The OP is stupid.
2. He probably loves his dad and step dad.

I think if you double the number of last names every generation it will get out of hand pretty quickly.

Haha Clinton-Dix-Rodriguez-DeLaHoya-Jones-Williams-Goodman-Goldstein III will look pretty silly that dudes grandson’s drivers license.

I immediately think, you’ll waste so much time in your life when you fill out forms.

And you run out of places a lot of time.

And some combination are, what were they thinking: Aiken-Johnson or Moore-Bacon.

How old a fella? is the Hyphenated name initials D-D.

I think he is from the BR area (for some reason Denham Springs comes to mind but us old people mix facts up sometimes ) and it was probably over 30 years ago. The story always got me in the feels so I remember it.

He was an assistant manager at Handy City/Handy Dan in Lafayette. I worked there during college in the 80s.

well if that’s the actual name they hyphenate, then i give the parents credit for the humor of forcing a kid to go through school with that name.

toughen him up a bit.

like naming a boy “Sue”

His mom is not chattel.

Taking mans name and losing your name is archaic vestige of feudal customs.
