My tailor makes a pair of flat front pants and a pair of pleated pants (single, forward pleat) with each jacket. Solves the problem.

Pleats look awful if they are worn around your hips instead of your waist. But a pair of well-tailored pleated pants that sit on your waist are hard - if not impossible - to beat.

Many of you are hopeless. Only wear cuffs if your trousers have pleats. For heaven’s sake, get your cuffs 1 3/4” or larger. Small cuffs make you look terrible.
Single pleats are not bad, but double pleats are suspect. The problem with pleats is that 99% of men don’t know how to properly wear trousers. They are supposed to be worn at your natural waist, not at your hips. If you wear them at the correct place, single pleats can look good and help with the drape of the fabric.
