The chief of police in Memphis in charge of the five officers who fatally beat and tasered motorist Tyre Nichols was fired from a previous law enforcement job after a botched probe.
Cerelyn “CJ” Davis became the first female police chief in Memphis’ history in 2021 and is currently in the international spotlight after five cops brutally beat Tyre Nichols.
She was fired from the Atlanta police department in 2008 for her alleged involvement in a sex crimes investigation into the husband of an Atlanta police sergeant, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Well now, this is really getting interesting.
Can't say that I'm surprised.

Did Tyre Nichols initially refuse to pull over when the cops saw him driving recklessly? If so how long before they finally got him stopped? I haven`t seen that detail in any story yet.

Exactly. It has been a controlled, one sided release of information designed to set a narrative.

So you haven`t seen that in any news report either? This would maybe explain how brutal they were when they pulled him out of his car. Regardless the cops obviously performed poorly and unjustly beat the sht out of him.

MPD CHIEF said there was no evidence of reckless driving on any of the cameras they havev

But still no word on if he led them on a chase when they tried to pull him over?

The rumor I heard today was that the guy was having an affair with one of the cops wives. I have absolutely nothing to back that up. Just inlaws that live in the area and they said that's what is going around.
Would be crazy if that's why all this went down like it did.

WOW……. That would be unreal if true.

Nah, while this is a good guess it's not the real reason behind the sudden, jarring, unsubstantiated attack from these officers.
It's leaking out now that the SCORPION task force (these guys were all members of this special interdiction unit) were compromised and corrupt, in the pocket of the Vice Lords gang - possibly even "members" of said gang, although I believe they were most likely just taking money from them to enact the gang's will while wearing badges.
I work in federal law enforcement, and it's a loosely kept secret that there's plenty more on the Vice Lords (and other criminal orgs) payroll throughout all levels of law enforcement in Memphis. Lots of corrections officers on the take especially...
Same can be said for Atlanta. It's not even much of a secret amongst LEO that there's certain cities/demographics that are MUCH more corrupt and actively looking the other way as long as certain reportable statistics can be met.
I will also say this though - the vast, VAST majority of cops are good people just wanting to do their job and get home to their families. And the vast majority of large cities are on the up-and-up and have an exhaustive system in place to weed out these bad officers. It's to the point where they worry just as much about keeping their officers within protocol as they do preventing crime, it's 50/50.
Certain cities/states have done a VERY good job with training their orgs at all levels and holding any negligence/corruption accountable. In fact, the majority of them have done so. But there's always a couple outliers like Memphis and Atlanta (mark my words, something like this that causes outrage WILL happen there soon) that give the whole profession a bad name and draw all the focus.
Sorry for the rant, I'm just tired of reading the couple posters in this thread saying things like "ALL cops are thugs" or "cops are a gang of their own". That's a clueless and sheltered opinion of a profession that has an equally important job as doctors with a tenth of the pay.

Do you read? Even the Police Chief said he wasn’t violating the law.
