Not too bright to resist, when the outcome is inevitable. I don't like cops or law breakers. Hopefully people will learn it is a game that you usually do not win.

FIFY
This is a major part missing from the American prison system. But rehabilitating criminals would minimize profits

White liberals never like the fact that black cops will beat a black man’s arse (warranted or not) just as quickly as a white cop. Sure, they can fall back on the “all cops are bastards” but without the racial element it’s just not as satisfying for them.

They still didn’t have to do what they did.

Inevitable, as in going to be arrested. Why fight and take the chance of injury, more charges, or death? fricking stupid and indefensible either way

Those cops are a bunch of thugs. Poorly trained, and terrible communication/decision-making.
Obviously, I don’t think they tried to kill this poor guy. They let their testosterone, ego, and adrenaline get the best of them. Getting a little pepper spray in their own eyes made it so much worse for the poor guy.
The part where he’s left alone sitting up against the cop car while handcuffed is probably the most disturbing to me. No one is really attending to him, and he is left to fall over multiple times (from a sitting position) and hit his head. That was hard to watch.
Sad situation that could’ve easily been handled better from every person. RIP to that guy, and I feel terrible for his family, and the family of all the officers involved.

Agree, but was just referencing the immediacy of what the cops focus should have been in apprehending Nichols.

That’s what sort of transpired with major police brutality incidents though.
That’s not true at all

Any time a white dude is called by cops (justified or otherwise) there is no media coverage or rioting.
You do bring up the actual issue. George Floyd and BLM destroyed any chance at actual police reform, because now we as a society can’t actually focus on the militarization of police issue because there is always some bullshite race lens thrown on top..which forces both sides to galvanize and refuse any “common ground” arguments. And the media wants these riots because it’s good for their ratings, so they will push the hate and make this “cops vs black guy” instead of “we need to fix law enforcement”
you can see posters replying to me to prove this.
these cops did this KNOWING they were on camera, how dumb and poorly trained were these dudes? who hired them? who trained them? at least because of their race we can actually ask these questions and maybe get answers this time

We already have the "No justice, no peace. No racist police." bullhorn chant.

Yeah, it’s easy to see how resisting can lead to a little rough treatment but beating a man after he’s restrained is pretty fricked up.
And it’s not like this was a criminal who led the cops on a violent chase.

Reminds me of a pig or animal hunting video,” yeah we got him, that was a nasty one, good kill etc

Agreed
You can't just subdue/restrain a guy and then shrug it off when he dies in your care.
I've never seen a person unattended and writhing like that in any of the police shows/body cam videos I've watched - really took me a second to process it.
In short - those cops are fricked and they deserve to be.

Never, as you know. But the reality of life is that you don't know who is on the other side. You cross an intersection at 2am, you should look fricking both ways because you shouldn't trust that traffic is sober and going to stop.
Don't trust that cops aren't going to beat your arse. Listen, live, and deal with it in court. The world isn't perfect. Never will be.
