Because nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, has been decided or will be before Monday.

Collierville and Germantown will split off from Shelby County.

Maybe Bartlett too.

Shelby County Heath department is an incompetent bureaucracy led by someone claiming to be a “Doctor” while never stating that she is actually a nurse with a doctorate in nursing. They fail to address the fact that every decision they have made has had little to no impact on Covid. Hundreds of restaurants and small businesses have been ruined while thousands of people a day pile into Walmart and Kroger.

They do all this while telling us for 9 months that our hospitals are at capacity. It was a lie in March and it is a lie now. Our hospitals are getting close to full, but that is only due to the fact that the hospitals have shutdown rooms and entire floors. Back in March we had almost 500 icu beds in Shelby county, we now have 423. We would be nowhere near capacity if they hadn’t run off medical professionals with shutdowns and fear mongering.

We were told the first shutdown was to build capacity so hospitals weren’t overrun, yet here we sit, 9 months later in the middle of the “2nd wave “ with less capacity...

The effective date and final language of Health Directive 16 is uncertain at the moment, but some restaurateurs are already seeing the effect.

A draft received by The Daily Memphian showed an effective return to the “Safer at Home” order from Dec. 21 at 12:01 a.m until Jan. 3 at 11:59 p.m.
