I was young and naive enough to think we had turned a corner.

$5 Nutria bounty was the shite.

Harry Lee said whatever he wanted. And got away with it.

‘If a black person is in a white neighborhood, my deputies will question them’

Imagine a sheriff of a huge parish saying that at a press conference today.

He had zero tolerance for crime and Jefferson Parish benefited from it.

Met Mike Foster once in Grand Isle. Really cool guy, had a camp and loved it down there.

Helmet laws are absurd to me.

Let me be clear, it is dumb as frick to ride a motorcycle without a helmet, but that should be a dumbass' choice to do.

Not everyone liked Harry Lee. I read a funny story just yesterday.

quote:

Harry Lee, the self-proclaimed “300-pound Chinaman” who brooked no opposition as the sheriff of Jefferson Parish for decades, was an early target for Gill.

Lee was so miffed at Gill’s handiwork that he once sent him a photograph of horse manure with a note that read, “This is a classic example of a James Gill column.”

“No,” Gill replied as he referenced the sheriff’s family-owned restaurant. “It’s a classic dish from the House of Lee.”

Lee was a good man who absolutely had the best of intentions at heart.

Jeff Parish Mardi Gras parades still have a truck in them at the beginning with a huge "head" of Lee.

And Foster was the best governor this state has had in many many years.

It’s still amazing to me how shitty our leaders are now. Maybe they always were, and they just don’t hide it anymore.

Foster was old school down on the bayou Franklin parish corrupt. He also ran on a platform opposing gambling, then switch up and even supported bailing out Harrah's. Funny how many Republicans cite him as a favorite when he was just a Democrat in sheep's clothing.

Lee just didn't give AF

Foster was a successful businessman who eventually ran for the legislature. His family had a history of being involved in state politics.

Politics have become so disgusting these days that the the only people willing to put up with it, are those that have no other options to be "successful".

Dude was 100% a baw. We definitely haven't had anyone like that in office since.

There was no better feeling than riding down the highway on your motorcycle with your hair blowing in the breeze and a few nutria strapped to the back headed to pick up that bounty and buy a carton of reds.

I remember his deputies shot up a car that was trying to run them over. A reporter asked if they would be suspended.
He said no, that would imply they did something wrong.
