It takes a really miserable person to only think of all the negative things that would happen to you if you won $750 million.

Bruh, I’ve already got my plan for when I win.

Just pointing out that it’s not all rainbows and unicorns.

I see almost no way one person could piss away 750 million.

But, I'm probably naive and there are literally thousands if not millions of people that most certainly will blow it all and be broke within a decade.

A lot of folks could easily blow it. People with poor impulse control combined with people around them always harassing them for money.

It’s a lot less than $750MM. Federal and state taxes come out of that figure.

I think the point he's getting at is more about orders of magnitude

So you only take in 400 million...it's still difficult to piss away 400 million

I always hear this is a problem.

I don't think my family and friends realize how easily I could tell them to frick off like a regular bum at a gas station.

Is there really a way for a regular Joe to even know how that would work out if $1 billion suddenly falls into your lap, though?

I'd like to think I could figure out a way to handle it, but who the frick knows until you are actually faced with something so altering.

It’s not just them. And I think with winning this I would take care of most relatives and friends. But people will come out of the woodwork.

Get an attorney and high end accountant on deck before you cash in ticket.

Get 5 high end wealth managers on deck to diversify your team.

Get a big bank (not local) for your fun money.

Turn in ticket anonymously (SC benefit)

Party like a rock star.

Ha, I meant my plan of I’m going buy a new boat and what not. Not a plan on how to handle $1.2billion.

Step 1 is go to a big city lawyer.
Step 2 yeti 110 iced down worn some silver bullets.

I probably overthink things, but I’ve read some real horror stories from lottery winners. Winning that amount of money sounds great, but it creates a ton of negative life factors. When I think about those, my current life situation seems really good.

If pro athletes can figure it out, I'm sure I could too.

I'm giving my family/friends a lump sum up front and they're not getting another cent. I would treat them to occasional things at MY discretion.

Obviously there are some extreme circumstances that could change this though

If you're a dude and you win, the first thing you should do is get a vasectomy.

Imagine paying Louisiana $45 million in state income tax along with the Feds another 37%
43% gone but who would complain with the left overs?

LOL at people in this thread acting like winning a billion dollars is a bad thing. The taxes, the constant pleading for handouts from family and friends, the loss of privacy. Oh the horror. That’s what the money is for.
