I hope the mother owns that zoo after the lawsuit.

That family is going to sue the crap out of the zoo and the zoo will settle. No doubt in my mind. It's complete and total BS, but I bet they are already speaking with a plaintiff's attorney.

All the plaintiff's attorney has to argue is that the zoo had a duty to ensure that the child did not slip though the railing the way that he did and a duty to protect their patrons. You can't operate a zoo if kids may fall into the exhibits. This is easy money.

There is a certain kind of kid who falls into a gorilla enclosure and a certain kind of kid who doesn't. And that has to do with supervision and responsible parenting.

I used to manage an apartment complex like 20 years ago. There were these two snot-nosed kids who just ran amok. They were like 4/5 years old and they would run around outside until midnight and you would find them in the street or inside a clothes dryer.

After we left I read an article that the two boys had been raped and sodomized for months by an old 60 year old pedo. I was not even mildly surprised. That's what happens when Mom is asleep at the wheel and dad is a missing dirtbag.

Now, I have no specific knowledge of these parents and their parenting skills. But I can make an educated guess.

you're not completely wrong

but the kid is also 4 years old

and I've never met a 4 year old that listens 100% of the time, have you?

True. But that's why when they are only 4, you hold their hand whenever you approach anything that hints of any type of danger, or when you're in a public, crowded area, where you could possibly lose sight of them.

Dude, I'm usually not one to cry racist and I hate when the BLM people do, but here's a few examples:

Also, the zoo tried to get the gorillas to leave the exhibit in order to isolate the child and get him out without harming the others but only the female gorillas cooperated. At that point they made the decision to shoot the male and said they'd do it again if they had to. The idea that there was any solution other than to shoot the gorilla at that point is ridiculous.

Let's not pretend any board that's 99.5% of 1 race wouldn't be racist.

how many people ever consider the possibility of their kid falling into an animal exhibit at the zoo?

it has never crossed my mind with my 3 year old

if it is something you never consider, do you take extra precautions?

I guess my true colors about being a responsible parent don't fit in your politically correct world. Instead of making excuses for bad parenting, maybe people should be thinking about personal accountability and why that is being glossed over.

what gets me is these are comments. Can comments even be "racist"? How are comments trying to hold an entire race down?
That's the definition of racism right?

Yeah that isn't a big deal. He was old, so its ok to shoot him because of a parent's inattentiveness and irresponsibility. It is all the gorilla's fault. I hope you don't run or manage a nursing home.

you said this. I don't think it's racist because i don't believe in words being racist but it's definitely not in the realm of political correctness as you're alluding to.

So, you got a good look to see that she was being a bad parent? You do realize that even good parents' kids can get hurt in freak accidents, right?

I'm not saying she wasn't negligent, but I won't pretend to know since I wasnt' there either. No eyewitnesses have said the parents were negligent.
