Have a abnormal lump on my neck on the right side. Its about where the black dot is on the picture above.

Any idea what it could be? Lymph Node swollen? Idk honestly. Has me a bit worried.

I'd be more worried that the top half of your head is missing.

I'm honestly unsure man you should see your doctor this week if it's concerning you though.

Lymph node. You probably have a bug. Go to the dr. if it doesn't go away in a few days.

ETA: I had the same lump last year when I had strep throat.

Yeah, throat is a little raspy. Figured that. I'll go to the doctor and have it checked out regardless.

Senior med student here. The above is the correct answer.

But that said, thyroid nodule seems most likely based on size and location. Is it mobile or immobile? Painful or nonpainful?

So yeah, go see your primary care physician and they will refer you to a specialist if you need one.

Yep. It was even visible when I put my head up. Antibiotics knocked it out.

Immobile

It hurts if I look completely down and turn my head to the right (putting pressure on it).

I think you should seek counseling for why you thought the OT was a good place to come with this.

The thyroid is lower.

Because there's nothing else to do at all about it right now

I was laying down and was curious

Not a normal location for a lymph node.

Also, lymph nodes should be mobile. Non mobile lymph nodes are concerning for cancer, but again that's not really a place you find lymph nodes. My guess is thyroid nodule. Thyroid cancer is actually pretty common, and most are easily treated easily with surgery.

You're right. Maybe not a thyroid nodule. But it being more medial like that pic in the OP makes me think more thyroid than lymph node.
