What do these people actually expect us to do as individuals about global warming? There are countries with billions of people that are fricking this place up way more than we ever could.
I think the ultimate goal is for a governing body or authority to shut down industries that they don't like based on their supposed carbon footprint.
Climate change is real. What's causing it, and how we can combat it (or if we even should), is not settled science.

It's a shame that our climate has been politicized so much that people can't discuss it rationally. The weather is definitely not what it used to be which is kind of a big deal when nearly half of civilization has decided to live and work in coastal areas. But you idiots on both sides keep treating it like a political team sport, that will make it better
And?? Are you saying that "what it use to be" was how it it always was?? Such a "whoa is me I dont want my life style to change" wah wah wah bitch post.
you have one side blaming human behavior for the changes. You have one side that says..."Mother nature is a bipolar bitch, so we adjust in any way we can just like our ancestors did".

I'm always amazed at people who will accept the fact that a weatherman can't accurately tell me what the weather will be tomorrow but will readily believe a climatologist who claims to be able to predict the weather generations from now.
It's not difficult to look at historical trends.

Define “not what it used to be” ... the Earth is how old? Humans have only been surviving on it for how long? Humans have only recoded weather for how many years now?

it is the exact same scenario every time a heat wave comes through, only it's "the other side" doing what you find so amusing

That's actually true....but these are the same people who say "See? Global warming!" for single events on the other end.
Both sides use hyperbole to push the argument.

Please send money to Al Gore.

I mean they are not wrong. But I wish they would be just as quick to denounce a heat wave in July or August

It's always awkward when people think the US = the globe.
It was cold in the USA today, ergo, the entire world was cold.
How dumb.

I'm just pointing out that the media is rushing to remind us that global warming is real. You're welcome.

IMO land use is a bigger threat to American cities. We build bigger, more sprawling targets for hurricanes, tornadoes, forest fires, etc.
We then wonder why we experience greater loss of life and attempt to assign blame.

At least there is only 11 more winters after we get through this one.

I asked a south Louisiana meteorologist his take on this and first thing out of his mouth was “I can’t stand how it’s becime a political issue.”
He then said the earth’s climate has always changed since it’s creation. He agreed there’s a change now but that the earth was so much more than us and she’s going to do what she wants to do.
Remember that there’s been five mass extinctions (occurring over million+ years) that are believed to be the result of rapid climate change. How can anyone say that that’s not what may be going on now?

Completely agree. It's a lazy take.

Maybe people should take time to read up on the difference between weather and climate.

Why do you even read this Media as you call it? What's the allure of seeking it for the sole purpose of getting all twisted in the britches about it?
