The words “felon,” “offender,” “convict,” “addict” and “juvenile delinquent” would be part of the past in official San Francisco parlance under new “person first” language guidelines adopted by the Board of Supervisors.

quote:

Going forward, what was once called a convicted felon or an offender released from jail will be a “formerly incarcerated person,” or a “justice-involved” person or simply a “returning resident.”

quote:

Parolees and people on criminal probation will be referred to as a “person on parole,” or “person under supervision.”

quote:

A juvenile “delinquent” will become a “young person with justice system involvement,” or a “young person impacted by the juvenile justice system.”

quote:

And drug addicts or substance abusers will become “a person with a history of substance use.”

quote:

1 of 5 California residents has a criminal record, and words like “prisoner,” “convict,” “inmate” or “felon” “only serve to obstruct and separate people from society and make the institutionalization of racism and supremacy appear normal,” the resolution states.

quote:

“We don’t want people to be forever labeled for the worst things that they have done,” Supervisor Matt Haney said.

Haney was one of 10 supervisors (Gordon Mar was absent) who voted for the new guidelines, which Supervisor Sandra Lee Fewer proposed.

quote:

“We want them ultimately to become contributing citizens, and referring to them as felons is like a scarlet letter that they can never get away from,” Haney said.

quote:

The language resolution makes no mention of terms for victims of crime, but using the new terminology someone whose car has been broken into could well be: “A person who has come in contact with a returning resident who was involved with the justice system and who is currently under supervision with a history of substance use.”

In other words, someone whose car was broken into by a recently released offender, on parole with a drug problem.

One of the main tenets of progressivism is to control language.

You redefine and obfuscate terms until they have little meaning, and then punish those who dare not use the newspeak

I was justice involved returning resident to my local “place of justice involvement” after a 2013 “incident” with a person firmly known as a “baw” at a local quick serve restaurant formerly know as a “Sonic”

The propaganda begins...

Next, you'll not be allowed to ask employee applicants about criminal history.

They'll do away with that term next.

"Punish has a negative connotation. It indicates that the person as done something wrong. Find a positive, uplifting way to put it, please."

So, a violent felon released by a corrupt judge like Trudy white, who then goes and stabs some old white lady to death for crack money, would be:

“A returning citizen created a life averse situation last night with an evil trump voter whose pronouns are unavailable, creating a justice involved predicament resulting from the returning citizen repeatedly offering an elongated piece of metal into the evil trump voter’s chest. Representatives of the justice system thanked the returning citizen for dispatching the socialism opposed resident and used their justice involved vehicles to assist the returning citizen in his quest to attain his life affirming substance.”

They have been trying to do that for a while now.

Doesn’t work when certain employers require a background check as part of their insurance coverage.

"Justice involved person".

And people say liberalism isn't a mental disorder.

That has already been done

quote:

Questions such as “Have you ever been convicted of a crime?” and “Have you ever gone to jail?” are standard on many job applications. But there’s a move afoot to change that for people seeking jobs in local government in East Baton Rouge Parish.

East Baton Rouge Parish Metro Councilwoman C. Denise Marcelle wants to remove the questions about a prospective employee’s conviction history for people applying to work for the city-parish. Marcelle’s goal is part of a larger, national movement to “ban the box” on job applications about criminal histories that often determine if applicants end up in the “yes” or “no” pile.

Marcelle is pushing for the Metro Council to vote in November on whether job applicants should have to disclose their conviction history — as is the current practice — when applying to work for the city. The policy is already in place in New Orleans and a number of big cities across the United States, including New York, Chicago and San Francisco.

Matt Haney and the people involved with this wouldn't hesitate to call a Republican a racist white supremacist. Not even for a second.

Sympathy for law breaking criminals, but no sympathy for anyone else.

Because everything, and I mean everything that is not in lockstep with progressive ideology is racist and white supremacist.
