Yeah it was bullshite when he said it too.
The burden of proof is on the state, not on the accused, no matter how what anecdotal spin is thrown out there.

Yea this dude's starting to seem like a dick hothead.

So if a big black dude is coming at you in your car what would your reaction be?
Tell him you voted for HRC and to stop beating your face?

What is up with this man and no charges?

Didn't ask me but I would have rolled up my window and drove off. But I'm not an a-hole. Guy had a previous incident at same intersection where he assaulted someone after a road rage incident.
Not saying the shooting wasn't justified just that this guy's previous incident makes him look like kind of a dick behind the wheel and has a problem controlling himself.

Does JPSO have a history of being corrupt?

Finally, a reasonable person.

Somewhat of an aside, and I'm not sure how it relates to this case, but. . . Has any person ever killed another person with something besides a gun?. . . Like - I don't know - maybe with his hands?
You don't have to be armed with a gun to pose a lethal threat to someone. Especially if you're putting your hands on that person (which may or may not have happened in this case, IDK). Should every fist fight end in a shootout? Of course not. But being "unarmed" does not absolve a person of being a dangerous threat. That word shows up in every one of these cases, as if not having a gun somehow makes it impossible for a person to be dangerous.

Guys like McKnight don't apologize
What kind of guys?
Guys that play football?
Guys that work at a mental health facility?
Guys that drive an Audi?
Guys that are black?
What kind of guy is Joe McKnight that makes him incapable of apologizing?

As you're saying, it's a highly nuanced situation. That's why it's absurd for people to depict it as open and shut no matter who they are defending. I think the death is needless and tragic. That doesn't mean I think it was straight up cold blooded murder.

Agree but reasonable force necessary should be applied. If you're being pummeled and you feel you are about to go out then you have to do what you have to do. The gun should be a last resort in my opinion. It's hard to make decisions like that in a split second. Especially in a heightened state of anger which is what it looks like they were in. You don't think straight in those situations. Can't excuse the behavior.

I totally agree it was needless and tragic no matter who started the situation.

How was it bullshite? You cannot tell me that police and prosecutors in this country do not see people as guilty until proven innocent. You just cannot.
Yes legally the burden of proof is on the state to prove innocence. But police treat you like a convict once you have one arrest on your record. Best just to answer that question "no".

No JPSO is a well ran machine. They are usually straight up and honest police. They don't have as many knuckleheads as other departments.

Being a "badass" cost him his life in your scenario. Good decision? Nope.

I think a lot of the shooting cases we've seen recently resulted from scuffles where it's hard to blame the people who pull the trigger.
That said, I think the lesson that should be learned from the cases is to avoid the scuffle if at all possible, thus preventing the need for deadly force, however justifiable it may be.

You are right, even if people piss you off, it's best to just leave it alone. That's the only way to stay out of sjhit like this.
Sad but true.
If I were Gasser I would be scared as shite once that deputy detail leaves his house.

Agree. My first instinct is to flee, de-escalate, or avoid situations even though the law says I can stand my ground. It's just not worth it. You don't know what kind of crazy you may run into. Unfortunately it appears 2 guys couldn't just let it go and now one is dead for a stupid reason. fricking getting cut off by an a-hole in traffic turns into a death. It's shameful and tragic.

There's a difference between being "charged" and "convicted". Of course they suspect you committed a crime, that's why you were arrested. "Innocent until Proven Guilty" applies to the conviction, not the charge.

I mean say I was arrested way back in 1998, and actually not arrested but given a misdemeanor summons. Now when a cop runs my name it comes up as an arrest and they tell me said arrest gives them the right to search my car.
I know people to deal with that scenario. It's shitty. Because the charge was beaten, but the citation remains.
I got downvoted for saying I like the JPSO, but IMO they do their job and have been great when I needed them. They never treated me bad like Kenner did. Being 16 in an brand new car with black friends got me pulled over a lot. Seriously.
