You're telling me young girls who turn 18 don't just confidently start posting sexual pictures of themselves for the world to see? That maybe that kind of behavior is caused by a poor upbringing or a psychological trauma that occurred earlier in life?
No, thats because they're all whores.

not saying it didn't happen. But, suddenly it's "cool" to say you were abused/assaulted.... etc

I give the OP a pass on this one.
Even though she is hot, I don’t want the words “damn that’s a hot rape victim” or in this case child molestation victim, to ever come from my mouth. Bllleeecchhh!!
I just can’t see innthe last 20 years how a man could give any treatment to a female athlete? As a RN I am NEVER giving a shot to a 16 year old girl without Mom or Dad in the room. Much less what these guys must legitimately for these kids. Massage a groin or a hamstring? Any type of treatment like that. As a man I’d want the parent there or a female adult staff member.
Alone in a room with a 15 year old girl in her underwear or less is no place to be. Anybody clinical with any sense knows that. To allow yourself to be in that situation makes you look shady.
If you flip the narrative and this girl is lying!!? This guys career is over. For being a dumbass. FTR I of course believe this guys a perv. Too many kids with the same story.

quote:What I've gathered from the entire "metoo" movement is that it's a way of acknowledging something that some victims have tried to suppress or felt uncomfortable discussing with authority/family/friends.
if the #metoo posts are pointing out specific people that haven't been convicted.
Is it possible that this movement could be hijacked by a handful of people who are seeking attention? Sure.
With that being said, I think we can both agree that not everyone who sexually assaults or harrasses someone is called out or convicted of said act.

Pretty narrow minded way of looking at this, but it's the OT, so I'm sure many here thought Maroney had it coming because she likes to show off her arse and tits on Instagram

The Facebook attention whoring takes away from real victims and it sickens me.
Maroney says she was drugged and abused by a predator in a position of power when she was a teenager. That's a serious thing. That's a very concrete serious case of abuse that should be outed and addressed. Take that guy, cut off his nuts, and bury him under the jail.
But, yesterday I read a 6 paragraph post about how sad and difficult it was for a woman to type this out but she's got to do it. She just has to even if it's one of the hardest things she's had to remember. Last week she was in a bar and a guy hit on her and it was so shameful and disgusting that she was in that situation and how brave she is for putting that out there and she went home and cried about the abuse. She ended it with #metoo
That's not helping these victims. It's hurting their cause. And that's not sexual abuse. All the attention seeking is going to do is cause people to bury the whole problem as exaggerated nonsense as they muddy the definition of sexual abuse. Which is probably exactly what these predators want.

This has been my biggest problem with the current Facebook meme. People are posting things that aren't even harassment and trying elevate them to the same level as someone who was actually raped or physically abused.
From idiots posting about how they "made their secretary get them coffee and are an awful example of a man," to a lot of women saying "omg, this guy said I looked hot on the street and asked for my number #metoo," this meme du jour has already run its course.

It's getting to be comical the number of women who have now decided to "come out" regarding their sexual assault. Either they are morons for not reporting it sooner or they are being attention whores.
I'll give Maroney props for at least naming names. I'm a lot more inclined to believe her story given this guy's history.
Jennifer Lawrence and Reese Withersppon telling stories about their sexual assault yet not calling out anyone is a bit suspect.

I have no doubt that a lot of the #MeToo action on facebook is typical "look at me" shite.
I probably believe Maroney though. And in a sad way it might explain some of her behavior in the last couple of years. Not that I don't like looking at her, but she's gone a little off the deep end

It's cool to be a victim these days. You get attention....When you can't get it any other way.

If an individual feels comfortable enough to share their story. I hope that they are doing it for the right reason and not looking for some sort of social media spotlight.
FWIW, the stories I've seen on my social media seem genuine.
