Confession.

I never liked McDonalds, but I once got an order of fries there that they had apparently prepared immediately before handing off to me. Those hot fries were legitimately satisfying. Most of the time they don’t serve them that hot.

If they can replicate that, they’d sell a lot more food provided they can staff their stores. High calorie, unhealthy food needs to be tasty and convenient. If it is, people are more willing to overlook the health consequences. McDonald’s does well with convenience but falls short on being tasty/satisfying to eat most of the time.

I eat like 1-2 quarter pounders a year and I’ve always liked how the cheese isnt totally melted into the patty.

They should follow Subway’s model and refer to employees as “burger artists”

Will this help them last even longer before they will begin organically breaking down?

Even if they did, none of us will outlive it to be able to definitively tell.

So after 65 years they just figured out its time to try to improve their main product. "McRumor" has it that they will reengineer their ice cream machine to celebrate the 100 year anniversary.

Breakfast is where McDonalds beats the other fast food chains.

The Quarter Pounder is probably their best burger. But it still doesn’t taste very good IMO. I wouldn’t stop there over a Whataburger or even a Wendy’s for burgers. If they’ve improved it recently, I will have to try it again though.

Before I clicked the thread, I thought it would say no more human meat in their burgers.

I feel like this thread title is misleading. I read nothing about the actual meat being upgraded.

Doesn't beat Chick-fil-A.

The Big Mac disagrees with this.

Yea I’d always choose a whataburger

Speaking of Wendy’s i had a spicy chicken sandwich from there a few weeks ago after i had been sick for a few days. Man its no frills compared to Popeyes and kfc, even chick fil a’s but it’s still so damn good after all these years (assuming they don’t drown it in mayo)

It’s okay. It’s not the best for fast food burgers IMO. They will also need to improve if they want to scale up and expand.

I don’t think they’d do well in the south unless they can find locations where Whataburger and In N Out aren’t already doing business. Both of those stores are better at core meal items (esp Whataburger) even if Culver’s has better ice cream options and a cleaner dining room.

I'm sure the dude is paid well, but it would kinda suck to work your butt off to become a chef...for fricking McDonald's.

Backyard Burgers
their black'n'bleu burger was the best fast food I've ever had anywhere

the one that used to be on the AL 157 exit off I-65 in Cullman served cold beer if you dined in

sadly, it closed a few years ago

ETA: 2nd best fast food was the 'signature crafted' garlic and white cheddar burger that McD's offered for an all-too-brief time:

remember when you could get a decent hamburger for <5$

The upgrades apply to the Big Mac and the McDouble burger as well as the classic cheeseburger, double cheeseburger and hamburger.
why leave the QPC out? It’s their best burger by far if I’m swinging by Mickey D’s.

I'm surprised McD's is still as big as they are.

I actually am too. With the vast variety of fast food these days, I honestly thought McDonald's was going to fade out but the one near me has lines all the time.

I always liked McDonald's food personally, but with the cult following of places like In n Out/Whataburger, I thought McDonald's style of burgers would eventually lose popularity.

If the bastards would simply give me my burger in a bun that wasn't 5 days old and everything I ordered was more or less correct I'd be happy...as it is now its like shooting craps...you never know what youre going to get but you can bet the bread will be stale.
