They create demand by limiting supply. Its a basic marketing strategy and I'm sure they pay companies millions and millions of dollars to research the effectiveness.

5. kill those lame arse commercials

Again, they do a ton of market research and I'm sure they know what they're doing and who they are targeting.

the non-pc answer is McDonalds is now viewed as ghetto (service and clientele) food and customers are staying away.

But I guess no one can say that.

My 10 year old never wants to go to McDonald's. When I was young that was the shite. Competition is killing McDonald's. Since neither the wife or the kid want it I find myself going less and less

There's a McDonalds here in Lexington that still does 2 for $1 sausage biscuits.

Wow that's insane to me. I'm in my mid 20's but when I was ten I would have eaten it every meal everyday for a week and not complained.

Or maybe there's more fast food franchises than ever before and they all eat into the market share that McDonald's once dominated. People are overthinking this.

Which is McDonald's own fault

did you know that you can get the chicken egg and cheese on a biscuit also? It's not on the menu, but you can order it.

my life is now complete

it's select locations, probably non franchisees. They announced this a few weeks ago. Started in San Diego.

I'd love to be able to get a Mcgriddle all day.

If limiting supply works so well for the McRib, why are they stopping it with breakfast? The reasoning is inconsistent.

Stuff your econ-based wizardry in a sack, it's because they put black people in the commercials.

Canes, Chic-Fil-A, Jack-in-the-Box, Taco Bell, Whataburger, Popeyes, Carl's....

Just drive down Siegen/Sherwood. I had maybe 10% of the choices that are out there now.

Wendy's, Taco Bell, and those quasi-fast food burger joints like Five Guys and Smash Burger.

Five Guys is so awesome, but it costs 13 bucks after I get a burger, fries, and drink. And you know I'm getting that drink because they have a Freestyle machine.

I don't go there anymore. Every time I used to go it felt like I was bothering them and they'd rather I not be there.
