BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — The mayor of Colombia's second-largest city banned prostitution in some of the city's most famous neighborhoods for six months Monday, arguing it was necessary to prevent the sexual exploitation of children.
Medellín's Mayor Federico Gutiérrez said the ban will be enforced in Provenza and El Poblado, two neighborhoods teeming with trendy bars and clubs and frequented by thousands of tourists.
The neighborhoods have also become popular with sex workers who walk the streets in search of international clients. Gutiérrez said criminal networks are taking minors to these districts and forcing them into sex work.

Why a man wants to pay $20 to be the 15fh guy in a day to stick his rod in a dirty, most likely underage, trafficked hole is beyond me.
Be better!

But it is cheaper than getting married, right?

If you can't pay it in cash, don't buy it, right?

I was in Colombia for a wedding earlier this year, and in Medellin, all of the nice hotels and restaurants had anti-sex trafficking signs that were displayed prominently.
I suspect much of that is because chubby gringos with 19 year olds who are scantily dressed is bad for business now that they have real tourism. However, from my conversations with locals, I got the impression they really were ashamed of being known for prostitution and Pablo Escobar, especially as Medellin has become a more affluent and safe area.

Poblado is the nicest neighborhood (the area a bit away from Provenza is probably the nicest part of the city), and I understand why.
But those areas, especially the restaurants and bars away from Provenza are actively trying to discourage prostitution on their own, as the country’s economy evolves.
You will still see lots of prostitution hidden in plain sight next to the Botero statues in the city center, but that is an area away from the place American tourists stay in, for the most part.

I'm completely unclear how any future wife, including a Latina, would let this happen.

People can't get married in Colombia?
What about Colombians?

It’s too bad because a lot of those women will be infinitely better than American women by almost every feminine metric. The men mistreating them are pieces of shite for abusing them.
