Yes

Why would they have to betray it, if their cause was to further white supremecy?
Did you know that the US Constitution was written to protect the white property owning citizens of the day?

I love the name

Does it celebrate the actions of a segregated and mostly white army that represented the supremacy of White America?
Ever heard of the Tuskegee airman?

On Thursday, McGee and 90-year-old Lt. Col. George Hardy, another retired member of the Tuskegee Airmen, were at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans for the opening of the exhibit “Fighting for the Right to Fight: African American Experiences in World War II.”Apr 22, 2016

So what are you going to do about it?

Is it also now time to tear down all of the plantations in Louisiana?

I think you got your facts made up.

Not to mention street names, and neighborhoods, Tremee, Marigny, etc.
There's no doubt in my mind they will be coming after the street names next.
If a statue of Jefferson Davis on Jefferson Davis Pkwy is so offensive, it needs to be taken down, then I'm sure the street name also needs to be changed.

did you know it was amended?
Sure. Almost 200 years after the signing of the declaration of Independence through the Voting Rights act. The 15th amendment did little to give full voting rights to all men.

So is the War of 1812. Time to take down Andrew Jackson's statue.

Yep.
It is surprising how many of you want to tear down all monuments.

Start a political movement to destroy every thing that offends me

Step one in rewriting history is wiping away reminders of the old history.

Glad you agree!
Though I think branding him on the forehead with a G for genocidist might work too. His monument actually celebrates his role as a defender of the city. Lee's celebrated his role as a defender of slavery.

what's Jackson square have to do with this? They try and take down AJ and I'll be one of those crazies out there trying to keep him up. That man saved this city from flying the Union Jack.
