Can he declare the Korean War over too?
That might ease tensions over there and make Kim Jong Un de-nuke.

This is news in Oxford, Miss.; NOT New Orleans, Louisiana.

I'd like to know who is he surrounding himself with that is telling him, "You're doing a great job of this, everything is fine."

Does that include Andrew Jackson ?
Jackson won a decisive victory in the War of 1812 over the British army at the Battle of New Orleans, making him a national hero

Honestly, I'm so sick of this nonsense that they should just take them down and someone should start a confederate/civil war museum. If they don't want them out in public, people should still be able to learn about what happened so history isn't erased for butthurt feelings. However, there would still be protests over that too.

There's already one. On Camp St., across from the WWII Museum.
Mitch'll go after that at some point. Gotta keep up the pandering.

Is he really wanting to remove Jackson as well?

Had no idea and I just visited the WWII museum a few months ago. I probably should go check that out before that too is erased from memory like it never happened.

OMG, I can't believe they have a boat named after the banking capital of southern, slave-driven agriculture. This has got to end!
A name they culturally appropriated from Native Americans, btw

I agree there is none. These people need to GTFO.

For the life of me I can't figure out why someone would want statues of traitors in their city. They fought AGAINST the United States and killed thousands of our men. Would you fight to keep statues of the kamikaze bombers up? Unbelievable

It bills itself as Louisiana's oldest museum. It's an interesting if not somewhat anachronistic throwback sort of place. Better hit it soon, as I can't imagine its long for our generic progressive ideal nowhere world.

Yep, pandora's box has been opened with this little crusade.
Get ready for more.

What history? Oh you think the people that want the statues down actually care about history?
Yeah I am sure the demographic most in favor of taking these down have deep interests in the history of what happened.
It's not like they would take these down for political gain, would they?

Jefferson owned slaves. How can we have memorials dedicated to him and put him on money?
