So there was a 0% chance of rain yesterday for DFW. Now it’s 90% and tornado’s are expected.

These weather people are clowns at their job.

As of 2pm the cap was still in place according to NWS but I would assume that’s changed a bit since

SPC had DFW in at least the marginal risk for today on their outlooks yesterday, so I doubt the National Weather Service had a 0% chance of rain for today on their forecast yesterday.

Weather channel had 0% percent chance of rain throughout the entire week yesterday. I check it daily because weather affects my job.

Below is the NWS Ft Worth from yesterday. Dallas on the fringe and Fort Worth supposedly not affected. I will credit the NWS for saying it was uncertain though.

Their forecasts can be sort of garbage because a lot of it is auto-generated rather than written by someone actually in the area like you get with the NWS.

I have noticed that about the weather channel. I typically use NWS for everything regarding severe weather.

That’s the same reason you see people advise against using the built in weather apps on smartphones, because they just use auto-generated forecasts.

They are the closest thing to fortune tellers you will ever see. Polish up your crystal ball and tell us what is going to happen, baw.

Mc if you saw further in that Twitter timeline I guess, the explanation for the sudden change of event is the dry line and front was not forecasted to move as slow as it is now. It’s roughly six hours behind schedule.

My issue is that people push possible climate disasters in the future as a certainty when we can’t even get a daily forecast correct.

The NWS Ft Worth has gotten numerous things either wrong and in some cases haven’t even predicted severe weather in the area that ends up happening.

It is definitely possible that only our weather people suck.

I have quick question for the more informed guys here. The thin line moving east is the dry line correct? What are:

1) same line moving west
2) the gravitational wave like features depicted over the metroplex?

Why’d we remove the Spanish from the thread title? I thought it added a nice flavor to the thread. Made the discussion a lil spicy.

I will say nothing mean nor racist towards the mods... so all I will say is you will have to ask Rummy

I may have known there was a Slidell, Texas just north of DFW... but now that I've just seen it again on the map it reminds me that there's no 'Dell like THE 'Dell
