If I am a champion of a single elimination tournament and I won 56 matches to be champion.

What is the minimum # of competitors there and what is the minimum # of matches that were played during the tournament?

2^56 is number of competitors

The sum of 2^0+2^1+...+2^28 is the total # of matches

Actually Frank Dux claims the record of 56 KOs in his fictional kumite tournament. (Bloodsport)

So it just made me wonder how many other competitors and how many matches it would take for that to be possible.

Just curious.
